The following corporate funding opportunities have deadlines in May 2019.

2019 WALTHAM Foundation Research Grant – Deadline: 5/1/19

  • Offers the opportunity for scientific researchers to apply for money to run research projects that advances the understanding in the nutrition, health, behaviour or welfare of companion animals around the world. ($25,000)

Altmetric Annual Research Grant – Deadline: 5/1/19

  • Research grant of up to $2,000 USD for a project that makes new discoveries about how research is shared and discussed online.

Reynolds American Foundation Giving – Deadline: 5/1/19

  • Serving residents in communities where significant numbers of Reynolds American Inc. and R.J. Reynolds employees live and/or work
  • Birth-12 Public Education – Public-school and community programs that prepare children to enter school ready to learn and programs that primarily focus on improving academic performance of low-performing and economically disadvantaged students. Except for business-partner relationships, all school grants are made through the superintendents’ offices. Individual day-care centers are not eligible for grants.

NSF Program on Fairness in Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Collaboration with Amazon (FAI) – Deadline: 5/10/19

  • NSF and Amazon are partnering to jointly support computational research focused on fairness in AI, with the goal of contributing to trustworthy AI systems that are readily accepted and deployed to tackle grand challenges facing society. Specific topics of interest include, but are not limited to transparency, explainability, accountability, potential adverse biases and effects, mitigation strategies, validation of fairness, and considerations of inclusivity. Funded projects will enable broadened acceptance of AI systems, helping the U.S. further capitalize on the potential of AI technologies.

Alexa Prize – Deadline: 5/14/19

  • Challenge to advance human-computer interaction – Selected university teams will receive a $250,000 research grant, Alexa-enabled devices, free Amazon Web Services (AWS) to support their development efforts, and access to other tools, data, and Alexa team support.

Ameriprise Financial Grants – Deadline: 5/15/19

  • Nonprofits may submit applications anytime and will be reviewed twice each year following the deadlines. Decisions will be communicated approximately four months from the deadline date.
  • Topics: Meeting Basic Needs (Hunger; Shelter; Adult Self-Sufficiency), Supporting Community Vitality (Community Development; Cultural Enrichment; Disaster Relief and Recovery), Volunteer-Driven Causes

HomeServe Grant Program – Deadline: 5/15/19

  • Priority will be given to projects that focus on aging in place, homeless or disabled veterans, low income housing and residents, and park accessibility improvements. Applications for the first two grant awards in the amount of $25,000 will be accepted beginning Wednesday, April 10, 2019 and are due by Wednesday, May 15, 2019 at 11:59 pm ET.

Sanofi Genzyme Contributions – Deadline: 5/15/19

  • we provide contributions to non-profit organizations focused on science education, access to health care, and other community needs, specifically in areas of the U.S. where we have a business presence.

Dollar General: Youth Literacy Grants – Deadline: 5/16/19

  • Schools, public libraries, and nonprofit organizations who help students who are below grade level or having trouble reading are eligible to apply. Grant funding is provided to assist in the following areas: Implementing new or expanding existing literacy programs; Purchasing new technology or equipment to support literacy initiatives; Purchasing books, materials or software for literacy programs

Rite Aid Foundation KidCents Regional Grants – Deadline: 5/17/19

  • KidCents Regional Grants are available in select counties and states for out-of-school time programs that improve nutrition, physical fitness or academic success. Programs must include an educational component (e.g. programs that deliver nutritious food independent of a nutrition education component do not qualify). Priority will be given to those programs that deliver quality out-of-school services to children and youth in high-need families.
  • Grants range from $15,000 to $30,000 – including up to 15% for indirect costs. Requests should not exceed $30,000.

Firehouse Subs Public Safety Foundation Grant – Deadline: 5/22/19

  • Providing lifesaving equipment and prevention education tools first responders and public safety organizations ($15,000-$25,000)

Alkermes Request For Proposal: Schizophrenia (RFP# 2019-RFP-SZ-01) – Deadline: 5/30/19

  • Alkermes is looking to fund educational activities that evaluate clinical data of current and emerging antipsychotics, including their mechanisms of action, for the treatment of schizophrenia.

Alkermes Request For Proposal: Opioid Use Disorder (RFP# 2019-RFP-AD-02) – Deadline: 5/30/19

  • Looking to fund independent educational programs regarding best practices for the use of long-acting injectable medications for the treatment of opioid use disorder, including best practices around withdrawal management and initiating these medications in real-world settings to improve outcomes in patients.

Amgen Competitive Grant Program in Migraine Research – Deadline: 5/31/19

  • For early career investigators in the United States to compete for individual Amgen-funded grants of US$50,000–150,000 for novel research proposals that seek to advance the medical knowledge of migraine.

Baxter International Foundation Grant – Deadline: 5/31/19

  • Seek submissions focused on meeting the needs of underserved communities aligned with our Foundation pillars: Increasing access to healthcare, Fostering Tomorrow’s Innovation (STEM education) and promoting community resilience in Baxter communities around the world.

Publix Super Markets Charities: Hunger Relief – Deadline: 5/31/19

  • Focus on alleviating homelessness and operate in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, South Carolina, North Carolina, or Virginia

Express Scripts Foundation Giving – Deadline: 5/31/19

  • Focus areas: access to health and medical services; educate underserved youth and support pharmacy education; military troops and families; children and families in need; disaster relief

Degree and Blue Zones #MadeToMove grant program – Deadline: 5/31/19

  • To assist communities in advancing active transportation through local project development, implementation and supporting policies. With the ultimate goal of promoting more walkable, bikeable, transit-friendly environments for all ages, incomes and abilities, this funding opportunity will be awarded to five mid-sized communities in the United States. Each community will receive $100,000 plus technical assistance from the Blue Zones, LLC, built environment team.

UNAOC And BMW Group Launch Search for Innovative Projects Promoting Intercultural Dialogue and Understanding – Deadline: 5/31/19

  • Ten organizations will be selected to receive the Intercultural Innovation Award. Based on their needs, recipients will receive a monetary grant to help their projects expand and replicate (total funding available in 2019: USD 100,500). They will also benefit from a one-year mentoring program, which will include capacity-building training in a multitude of areas, from communications to fundraising and project management.

2019 Lyfebulb–UnitedHealth Group Innovation Challenge – Deadline: 5/31/19

  • Recognize the top Patient Entrepreneurs developing innovative ideas for better management of depression and anxiety using healthcare information technology, medical devices, diagnostics, consumer products, or services.

Medline Community Impact Grant: Community Health Centers – Deadline: 5/31/19

  • Award results focused grants addressing prevalent healthcare challenges that help improve patient care or enhance the quality of life for their patients and the community at-large. (up to $10,000)
