Avnet is a global technology and supply chain leader committed to strengthening communities through education, innovation, and digital access. Through its Community Engagement and Avnet Cares programs, Avnet funds nonprofit organizations that advance STEM education, workforce development, digital inclusion, environmental sustainability, and community resilience.

Avnet prioritizes programs that create strong pathways to opportunity and equip underserved communities with the tools to succeed in a digital world.


What This Program Funds

Avnet provides funding for nonprofit programs aligned with its core pillars:

1. STEM Education & Youth Technology Access

  • Robotics, coding, engineering, and maker programs

  • K–12 STEM enrichment

  • Programs expanding access to technology for underserved learners

2. Workforce Development & Digital Skills

  • Tech-focused workforce pathways

  • Digital literacy programs for youth or adults

  • Training supporting underrepresented groups entering tech fields

3. Technology-Driven Community Solutions

  • Programs using technology to improve community outcomes

  • Broadband or digital equity projects

  • Innovation labs or community tech hubs

4. Environmental Sustainability

  • Conservation and resiliency programming

  • Tech-based sustainability solutions

  • E-waste and circular-economy initiatives


Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit or global equivalent

  • Align with Avnet’s giving pillars

  • Demonstrate clear, measurable community impact

Geographic Eligibility (Required for All Applicants)

Avnet Cares is currently only funding organizations that serve or directly impact communities where Avnet companies have major operations:

  • Phoenix, AZ

  • San Jose, CA

  • Richfield, OH

  • Gaffney, SC

  • Dallas, TX

  • Chicago, IL

  • Boston, MA

  • Cherry Hill, NJ

  • Orlando, FL

  • Guadalajara, Mexico

  • Toronto, Canada

Programs that impact a large geographic area that includes one or more of these locations are also eligible.

    • Alignment with Avnet’s pillars

    • Geographic relevance

Avnet often increases funding over time as relationships deepen.
