Banfield Foundation Community Care Grants
Funding to Expand Access to Affordable Veterinary Care for Owned Pets
The Banfield Foundation Community Care Grant Program supports nonprofit organizations providing low-cost or free veterinary care to owned pets whose families may otherwise be unable to afford treatment. These grants help keep pets healthy, reduce preventable illness, and allow pets to remain safely in their homes.
Funding prioritizes preventive and basic veterinary care delivered through nonprofit-run clinics, including on-site, mobile, or pop-up clinics. Applications are reviewed quarterly, with the next deadline at the end of April.

About the Funder
The Banfield Foundation believes all pets deserve access to veterinary care, regardless of their owners’ financial circumstances. Through its Community Care and Disaster Relief grant programs, the Foundation partners with nonprofit organizations nationwide to remove barriers to care, strengthen community-based veterinary services, and improve long-term outcomes for pets and their families.
What This Program Supports
Community Care Grant funding may be used for direct veterinary care costs, including:
- Medications, drugs, and vaccines
- Medical and clinical supplies
- Preventive and wellness care (priority focus)
- Basic treatment for minor injuries or illnesses (e.g., ear or eye infections)
💡 In some cases, the Banfield Foundation may provide in-kind donations of medications or vaccines alongside a grant award.
Programs must serve owned pets and focus on helping vulnerable or low-income pet owners, though formal income screening is not required.
