The Boeing Employee Community Fund (ECF) – St. Louis Chapter provides charitable grants to nonprofit organizations making a measurable impact across the St. Louis metropolitan area. Since its founding, ECF St. Louis has invested more than $170 million in local communities through grants to hundreds of nonprofits.
ECF operates on a biennial grantmaking cycle, with funding priorities alternating by year. 2026 is an even-numbered year, meaning funding is focused on Education, Arts & Culture, and Civic Engagement. Applications submitted outside the designated cycle will not be considered.

2026 Funding Priorities (Even-Year Cycle)
Grantmaking in 2026 supports organizations working in:
Education
Programs that strengthen learning outcomes, access, and opportunity for students of all ages.
Arts & Culture
Organizations that contribute to cultural vitality, creative expression, and community identity.
Civic Engagement
Initiatives that promote community participation, leadership, and civic life.
Note: Health and Human Services organizations are funded in odd-numbered years only.
Eligibility & Funding Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a 501(c)(3) public charity or an eligible school (EIN required)
- Have held nonprofit status for at least two years
- Submit only one grant request per organization per two-year cycle
- Request no more than 10% of the organization’s general operating budget
- Serve communities within the eligible counties listed above
- Submit all required financial documentation and complete all application fields
Organizations that previously received ECF St. Louis funding must submit an Impact Report from the prior grant cycle with their new application.
Ineligible Requests
ECF St. Louis does not fund:
- Political organizations or programs
- Sectarian, fraternal, social, or religious organizations
- Private foundations
- Travel, trips, or tours
- Fundraising events or sponsorships
- Conferences, dinners, auctions, athletic teams, or similar activities
Application Process
All applications must be submitted through Boeing’s STAR (SmartSimple) System. Organizations must maintain an active account to apply.
- Returning applicants can log in and apply through the “Open Calls” tab
- New organizations must email stlecf@exchange.boeing.com with their EIN to request access
Applications require a detailed proposal, financial documentation, and organizational information.
