About the Funder

BREW is an independent coffee business located in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. In addition to serving coffee and creating a community gathering place, BREW partners with local organizations, schools, and events to support meaningful work in the surrounding area.

Because BREW is a single-location small business and receives a high volume of requests, it cannot support every eligible organization. Its donation program is designed to direct available resources toward organizations and causes with a strong connection to the local community.

What This Program Supports

BREW considers donation requests connected to:

Local Nonprofit and Community Organizations

Organizations working to improve quality of life and address meaningful needs in New Smyrna Beach and nearby communities may submit requests.

Schools and Educational Initiatives

Local schools, educators, and education-related programs may be considered when the request benefits students or supports the surrounding community.

Community Events

BREW may provide support for local events that bring residents together, benefit a community cause, or create a positive impact in the New Smyrna Beach area.

Community Development

Priority may be given to initiatives that strengthen community connections, expand local opportunities, or address an identified community need.

Meaningful Local Causes

BREW considers causes that align with its values and demonstrate a clear benefit for local residents.

Geographic Priority

BREW prioritizes organizations, schools, events, and initiatives located in:

  • New Smyrna Beach
  • Nearby communities
  • The surrounding local area served by BREW and its customers

Requests without a clear connection to New Smyrna Beach or the surrounding region may not be considered.

Most out-of-area and national requests cannot be supported because of BREW’s limited charitable resources and local giving priorities.

Connection to BREW

Priority is given to applicants that have an established connection to BREW or the local community.

This may include:

  • Organizations whose staff, volunteers, or supporters are BREW customers
  • Schools or organizations serving BREW customers and their families
  • Events taking place in New Smyrna Beach or nearby communities
  • Organizations with an existing relationship with BREW
  • Programs that directly benefit the community surrounding BREW

Applicants should use the donation request form to explain their connection to BREW, its customers, or the local community.

A previous relationship is not necessarily required, but demonstrating an authentic local connection may strengthen the request.

Selection Criteria

BREW evaluates donation requests based on:

  • Alignment with BREW’s values
  • Impact within the local community
  • Connection to BREW and its customers
  • Strength and clarity of the request
  • How the donation will be used
  • Availability of charitable resources at the time of the request

Submitting a donation request does not guarantee that support will be provided.

Funding and Donation Amounts

BREW does not publish standard donation amounts or available donation types.

The form of support may depend on:

  • The nature of the request
  • The proposed use of the donation
  • The organization or event’s connection to BREW
  • Anticipated local impact
  • Available resources

Applicants should clearly describe what they are requesting and how the requested donation will support the organization, event, or community initiative.

Application Limit

Organizations are limited to:

  • One donation request per calendar year

Applicants should carefully select the event, program, or initiative for which they are requesting support.

Organizations that have already received a donation from BREW during the current calendar year should wait until the following year before submitting another request.

Timeline & Review

📅 Application Timeline: Rolling / ongoing
📅 Recommended Lead Time: At least 30 days before the event or needed date
📅 Application Limit: One request per organization per calendar year
📅 Decision Timing: Requests are reviewed regularly

BREW cannot guarantee that last-minute requests will be reviewed or fulfilled. Organizations should apply as early as possible, particularly for requests connected to events or fixed program dates.

Application Requirements

Applicants should complete BREW’s online donation request form with as much detail as possible.

Organizations should be prepared to provide:

  • Organization or school name
  • Contact information
  • Description of the organization or community initiative
  • Event information, when applicable
  • Date the donation is needed
  • Description of the requested donation
  • Explanation of how the donation will be used
  • Anticipated community impact
  • Connection to BREW, its customers, or the local community
  • Any other information requested through the form

Clear, complete requests will help BREW evaluate whether the opportunity aligns with its priorities and available resources.

Application / Request Process

Donation requests must be submitted through the form on BREW’s website.

Before applying, organizations should confirm that:

  • The request benefits New Smyrna Beach or a surrounding community
  • The organization, school, event, or cause aligns with BREW’s values
  • The application is being submitted at least 30 days in advance
  • The organization has not already received a BREW donation during the current calendar year
  • The application clearly explains how the donation will be used
  • The request demonstrates meaningful local impact
  • The organization can describe its connection to BREW or the local community

Why This Opportunity Is a Good Fit

This opportunity is a strong fit for organizations that:

  • Operate in New Smyrna Beach or a nearby community
  • Serve local residents, students, or families
  • Are planning a local community event
  • Have an established connection to BREW or its customers
  • Can demonstrate a meaningful and direct community benefit
  • Need modest local business support
  • Can submit their request at least 30 days in advance

BREW’s donation program is best suited for hyperlocal organizations, schools, events, and community initiatives rather than national campaigns or requests without a clear New Smyrna Beach connection.
