Eligibility

To qualify for a donation or sponsorship through Brookshire Communities Foundation, an applicant must:

Operate within Brookshire Grocery Company’s market area
Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, governmental entity such as a city or county, or school district
Have a mission supporting at least one of the Foundation’s six core focus areas
Align with Brookshire Grocery Company’s mission and business model
Demonstrate how a partnership with Brookshire Communities Foundation would provide community benefit

Geographic Eligibility

This is a regional opportunity rather than a statewide grant program.

Brookshire Grocery Company currently supports communities within its store market areas in:

Texas
Louisiana
Arkansas
Oklahoma

Applicants must operate within BGC’s actual market area. Being located somewhere within one of these four states does not automatically establish eligibility.

Eligible communities are generally those served by one or more of BGC’s grocery banners:

FRESH by Brookshire’s
Spring Market
Reasor’s
FRESH by Reasor’s

Organizations outside BGC’s trade area are not eligible.

Prospective applicants should confirm that their community is served by a BGC store before applying.

Corporate Support vs. Local Store Support

Brookshire Grocery Company offers two primary paths for community organizations seeking assistance.

Local Store Support

Organizations seeking smaller donations may contact their local Store Director.

Local stores can provide:

Gift card donations
Volunteer support

Organizations should:

Submit the request on organizational letterhead
Include a tax identification number
Submit the request at least one month before the event
Allow approximately one week for processing

One request per organization is considered annually.

Corporate Giving

Requests for larger support should be submitted through the Brookshire Communities Foundation corporate application.

Requests of $250 or less should generally be directed to the local store rather than the corporate program.

Corporate applications are reviewed by BGC’s Donations Committee.

Funding Amounts

Brookshire Communities Foundation does not publish a standard minimum or maximum award amount.

Organizations requesting $250 or less should contact their local store.

Requests exceeding $5,000 may require up to eight weeks for processing because of additional review and approval requirements.

Organizations may generally receive support once annually.

Ineligible Requests

Brookshire Communities Foundation does not provide support for:

Individuals
Political campaigns, candidates, or causes
Employee recognition programs or events
Individual schools or student groups within a school
Requests outside BGC’s trade area
Church events or congregations, except food pantries providing a direct community benefit
Fundraising for individual trips
Beauty pageants
Other requests outside the Foundation’s charitable priorities

Individual schools and student groups seeking smaller-scale assistance are encouraged to contact their local BGC store about available donation opportunities.

Requests solely for advertising and sports sponsorships involving signage, banners, or jersey recognition are handled separately through BGC’s Marketing Team.
