Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must be:

  • An Arkansas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit
  • A government agency
  • A school
  • A charitable dental treatment facility

Additional Requirements:

  • Funding must be used within Arkansas
  • Grants are not awarded to individuals
  • Organizations must submit final reports for prior Community Grants before applying again

  • Travel, marketing, and training tied directly to the charitable program

Funds Cannot Be Used For:

  • Direct financial assistance to patients
  • Vouchers or reimbursements for dental bills
  • Clinical staff salaries (dentists/hygienists for chairside time)
  • For-profit activities
  • General overhead unrelated to the grant
  • Fundraising events or sponsorships
  • Endowments
  • Organizational debt
  • Excessive salaries, luxury travel, or private benefit
  • Lobbying
  • Discriminatory programs

What Makes a Strong Proposal

Preferred project characteristics include:

  • Active collaboration with healthcare providers or community partners
  • Clear understanding of local oral health needs
  • Referral protocols connecting patients to long-term dental care
  • Wraparound support services
  • New or expanded oral health programs in underserved counties
  • Strong evaluation plans demonstrating measurable impact

Programs must collect and report quantitative and qualitative data, including county-level participation.
