- (Requests of $5,000 or less should be submitted via the community donations application)
- Maximum Grant Amount: Up to $100,000
- Grant Term: One year (single-year support only)
- Limit: One grant request per organization per year
Funding is guaranteed for the one-year term only and does not imply renewal.
Eligibility Requirements
Funded organizations must:
- Be a 501(c)(3) public charity, or
- Be a governmental entity or academic institution (e.g., not-for-profit school or health department)
- Serve individuals in South Carolina
Financial Documentation Requirements
- Organizations >5 years old with operating income ≥ $500,000:
- Submit audited financial statements (most recent fiscal year)
- Organizations < $500,000 income or <5 years old:
- Submit an independent CPA review
- Organizations without an audit or independent review:
- Eligible to apply for up to $25,000
- Organizations with an audit or independent review:
- Eligible to apply for up to $100,000
Application Process (Two-Stage)
- Letter of Inquiry (LOI) submitted online by the stated deadline
- Staff Review (may include a meeting or site visit)
- Invitation to Apply (if approved), followed by submission of a full application and required documents
- Charitable Giving Committee Review and funding decision
