Georgia Power Foundation – Workforce for Georgia Grant Program (2026)

Up to $50,000 for Career & Technical Education Programs in Georgia Schools

The Workforce for Georgia Grant Program, funded by the Georgia Power Foundation, supports schools and school districts in Georgia working to strengthen Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) programs. The program invests in initiatives that align high school education with workforce needs in local communities.

Since launching in 2020, the program has awarded more than $2 million to schools and College & Career Academies across Georgia. In 2026, the Georgia Power Foundation will award up to $1 million in grants, with individual awards of up to $50,000.

Career Pathway Development

  • Launching new career pathway programs

Workforce Alignment

  • Aligning career programs with local business and industry demand
  • Strengthening partnerships between schools and employers

  • Training or certification opportunities for instructors
  • Professional learning to support workforce-focused education

Programs should demonstrate how they will prepare students to enter the workforce after graduation or pursue further career education.


Funding Amounts

💰 Up to $50,000 per grant
💰 Total funding available: Up to $1,000,000 statewide

Grant funds may be used over a 12-month period following the award.


Eligibility

Eligible applicants include:

  • Public schools in Georgia
  • Georgia school districts with CTAE programs
  • College & Career Academies (CCA)

Applicants must be:

  • District-level staff overseeing CTAE programs, or
  • School administrators, principals, or instructional coaches

Important eligibility rules:

  • Private schools are not eligible
  • Only one application per individual school
  • Multiple applications may be submitted by a school district if from different schools

Timeline

📅 Application Opens: March 12, 2026
📅 Optional Applicant Webinar: March 18, 2026 (10:00 AM)
📅 Application Deadline: April 14, 2026 (11:59 PM)
📅 Grant Awards Announced: Late May 2026

Applicants are encouraged to review the application questions in advance and prepare program details before submitting.


Grant Expectations

Grant recipients will be required to:

  • Sign a grant agreement prior to receiving funds
  • Use funds within 12 months of the award date
  • Submit mid-year and final evaluation reports
  • Distribute a student survey provided by the Georgia Foundation for Public Education
  • Participate in a virtual or in-person site visit in Spring 2027
  • Acknowledge the Georgia Power Foundation in communications and media

Application Components

The application includes several sections designed to evaluate program readiness and impact, including:

  • Project description and program goals
  • Local workforce need and labor market alignment
  • Program inputs and activities
  • Expected outputs and number of students served
  • Goals and evaluation plan
  • Project budget and funding request

Bonus consideration may be given to applicants that:

  • Serve rural counties with fewer than 35,000 residents
  • Serve schools with 75% or more economically disadvantaged students
  • Have not previously received Workforce for Georgia funding
