The following corporate funding opportunities have deadlines in December 2020.

Illumina Agricultural Greater Good Initiative – Deadline: 12/4/20

  • This program spurs critically needed research that will increase the sustainability, productivity, and nutritional density of agriculturally important crop and livestock species. Grant recipients receive donations of Illumina products to support their projects.

Microsoft: AI for Accessibility – Deadline: 12/15/20

  • AI for Accessibility grants support projects that use AI to empower people living with disabilities. We are looking for individuals or teams who are not only passionate about making the world more inclusive, but also firmly rooted in the communities they intend to benefit. We want to invest in ideas that are developed by or with people with disabilities.
  • Area of focus: Smart cities and transportation
  • In addition to Azure compute credits worth $10,000, $15,000, or $20,000 (depending on your project scope and needs), these grants cover costs related to collecting or labeling data, developing models, or other engineering-related work.

AACR-Bristol Myers Squibb Midcareer Female Investigator Grant – Deadline: 12/17/20

  • The AACR-Bristol Myers Squibb Midcareer Female Investigator Grant represents a joint effort to encourage and support mid-career female physician-scientists and researchers to conduct immunooncology research and to foster their career advancement toward becoming a senior investigator. Research projects may be translational and/or clinical in nature with a focus on immuno-oncology.
  • The grant provides $225,000 over three years


Forrest E. Mars, Jr. Chocolate History Research Grant – Deadline: 12/26/20

  • Launched in 2013, the Forrest E. Mars, Jr. Chocolate History Research Grant named after the late owner and legendary advocate of the history of the Americas, has a special emphasis on uncovering and sharing chocolate’s role in global history. The grant is designed to encourage deeper discovery into the influence of chocolate on global heritage and culture. Grant funds will be awarded for project(s) that investigate and/or educate the public on the history of chocolate and/or the chocolate making process from a cultural, historic and/or scientific perspective(s).
  • A minimum of $50,000 will be awarded.

AWS Cloud Credits for Research – Deadline: 12/31/20

  • AWS will evaluate academic research support proposals from researchers at accredited institutions throughout the year. Awarded amounts will vary depending on the research proposal and usage requirements documented in the proposal, and will be in the form of promotional credits applicable to AWS services. EC2 usage supported by promotional credits will be for on-demand and Spot Instances only.
