The following corporate funding opportunities have deadlines in October 2019.

IBM Business of Government: Research Report Stipends – Deadline: 10/1/19

  • Looking for very practical findings and actionable recommendations – not just theory or concepts – in order to assist executives and managers to more effectively respond to mission and management challenges. ($20,000)

Pfizer: Research in Acromegaly/Growth Hormone Excess (Global) – Deadline: 10/1/19

Projects that will be considered for Pfizer support will focus on:

  • Morbidity and mortality in patients with Acromegaly/GH Excess
  • Novel strategies including Quality of Life and Patient Reported Outcomes to evaluate and treat acromegaly/GH Excess
  • Early diagnosis and treatment of acromegaly/GH Excess; consequences of late diagnosis/treatment initiation
  • Pharmacoeconomics such as but not limited to resource utilization; patient-reported outcomes; treatment patterns

Individual projects requesting up to $50,000/year for 1 to 2 years will be considered. Pfizer anticipates awarding up to 2 grants

Honda Marine Science Foundation – Deadline: 10/1/19

  • HMSF considers projects that advance the understanding and/or implementation of living shorelines, which are natural approaches to protecting coastal habitats and communities (“community” is interpreted broadly beyond strictly geographical parameters).
  • The Honda Marine Science Foundation will select an estimated 4-6 grantees per year. With an estimated $400,000 available in grant funds annually, grant amounts may range from $25,000-$100,000.
  • Currently, priority is given to coastal regions in Washington, Oregon, California, and/or Hawaii.

Constellation: E2 Energy to Educate – Deadline: 10/1/19

  • Seeking proposals for hands on projects which engage 100 or more students, within the follow themes: Smart Home, Electrification, Clean Energy & Zero Waste
  • Grant awards are up to $25,000 for grades 6-12 and up to $50,000 for colleges and universities

Toshiba America Foundation K-5 Grants – Deadline: 10/1/19

  • K-5 grade teachers are invited to apply on-line for a Toshiba America Foundation grant of not more than $1,000 to help bring an innovative project into their own classroom.

Clif Bar Family Foundation – Deadline: 10/1/19

  • Clif Bar Family Foundation supports innovative small and mid-sized groups working to strengthen our food system and our communities, enhance public health, and safeguard our environment and natural resources

Pfizer: Use of Biosimilar Agents in Inflammatory Conditions – Deadline: 10/4/19

  • The intent of this RFP is to encourage organizations to design educational programs to reach HCPs that treat inflammatory conditions, including gastroenterologists, rheumatologists, primary care practitioners, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
  • Individual projects requesting up to $250,000 will be considered.

Microsoft and National Geographic: AI For Earth Innovation – Deadline: 10/9/19

  • Support novel projects that create and deploy AI tools to improve the way we monitor, model, and ultimately manage Earth’s natural systems for a more sustainable future
  • Proposals may request $5,000 to $100,000
  • All models supported through this grant must be open source, and grant recipients must be willing to publicly share their models for use by other environmental researchers and their data for use by the National Geographic Society.

Johnson & Johnson Nurses Innovate Quickfire Challenge in Maternal & Newborn Health – Deadline: 10/10/19

  • Nurses around the world are invited to submit innovative ideas aimed at improving maternal & newborn care – including but not limited to neonatal care, obstetrics, and women’s health. The nurse innovators with the best idea(s) will receive up to $100,000 in grant funding, mentoring from experts across the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies, and access to the Johnson & Johnson Innovation – JLABS ecosystem to help bring their ideas to life. 

Gilead Sciences: PSC PACE (PrimAry Sclerosing Cholangitis Epidemiology) – Deadline: 10/11/19

  • This program will fund up to five projects with a total commitment of US $1M focused on identifying gaps in PSC epidemiology data and improving understanding of the cascade of care. Applications will be accepted from September 16 to October 11, 2019.

H&M Global Change Award – Deadline: 10/15/19

  • The aim is to speed up the process of finding, supporting and scaling up disruptive early stage innovations that can make the entire fashion industry circular.
  • We are looking for new and early stage ideas so you can’t apply with an already proven and existing innovation.
  • The winners share a 1 million euro grant and get access to a one-year Innovation Accelerator Program provided by the H&M Foundation, Accenture and KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm.

Microsoft Productivity Research – Deadline: 10/16/19

  • The goal of this RFP is to spark new research that will expand our understanding of productivity and fundamentally change the ways that people work and live. To help accomplish this goal, Microsoft intends to fund $1 million USD in new collaborative research efforts with university partners so that we can invent the future of productivity together.
  • Microsoft will provide up to $250,000 USD of funding and other resources for each proposal.

Amazon Alexa EdTech Skills Challenge – Deadline: 10/18/19

  • The Amazon Alexa EdTech Skills Challenge is a new event that will take place at SXSW EDU 2020. Open to all U.S.-based education technology companies, this exciting competition is designed to find the best application of voice technology in education. The competition is an opportunity for your company to build a skill that addresses education challenges and positively impacts students, faculty, administrators, or other education stakeholders.
  • Up to $50,000 in AWS promotional credits

Disney Conservation Fund – Deadline: 10/18/19

  • Awarded to nonprofit organizations leading comprehensive community conservation efforts and initiatives that inspire kids and families to take action for wildlife and the planet.

Ben & Jerry’s: Grassroots Organizing for Social Change – Deadline: 10/23/19

  • One-year grants for up to $25,000, to organizations with budgets under $500,000. Only organizations with 501(c)3 status, or who have a fiscal agent with this status are eligible to apply.
  • Focus on the types of activities and strategies an organization uses for creating social change rather than on the specific issues the organization is addressing.

VMware Systems Research Award – Nomination deadline: 10/25/19

  • The objective of this award is to call attention to a valuable and promising body of emerging computer science systems research, and provide support for continued advances by an emerging research leader. (Award amount: $100,000)
  • Nominations may be submitted by the department chair (one per department chair).
  • Early-career university faculty worldwide (within 5 years of their first tenure-track appointment).

Sephora Accelerate Program – Deadline: 10/31/19

  • Open application process for technology and sustainability businesses relevant to the beauty industry
  • Eligible businesses must be founded or co-founded by a woman (at least 18 years old) and company must be an early stage business not yet distributed widely by others. Our interest is to help those who have the most to gain from what Accelerate offers, which means businesses with more than an idea (at least a lab sample or prototype), but probably not much real revenue yet.

Huntington Charitable Grant Program – Deadline: 10/31/19

  • Focus areas: Community Revitalization and Stabilization; Community Services; Affordable Housing; Economic and Community Development (Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, West Virginia and Western Pennsylvania)

Salesforce Research Deep Learning Grant – Deadline: 10/31/19

  • Support individuals who extend, use or analyze deep learning methods or can provide fresh perspectives on current research
  • Salesforce will fund up to $50,000 USD, depending on the needs to support the research. We will fund up to five different proposals.

State Farm: Good Neighbor Citizenship® Company Grants – Deadline: 10/31/19
