Koch Companies – Charitable Contributions

3 Min Read

Charitable Contribution Support for U.S.-Based Community Organizations

Koch companies review charitable contribution requests on a rolling basis throughout the year. Support is generally focused on aligned opportunities in communities where Koch companies have a significant presence of operations and employees. Organizations are encouraged to submit requests by October 31 to be considered for support in the current calendar year.

Organization: Koch companies
Support Type: Charitable contributions
Geographic Focus: U.S.-based opportunities, with emphasis on communities where Koch companies have significant operations and employees

About the Funder

Koch companies support charitable initiatives that align with their community investment priorities and strengthen communities where they operate. Because Koch includes multiple companies, applicants are encouraged to review the investment guidelines for the specific Koch company most relevant to their request before applying.

What This Program Supports

Koch companies seek to support aligned charitable opportunities in communities where they have a significant business and employee presence.

Specific funding priorities may vary by Koch company. Applicants should review the relevant company’s investment guidelines before submitting a request.

Eligible Support Types

Charitable contributions
Community investment support
Potential company-aligned funding opportunities

Eligibility & Preferences

At this time, Koch companies are only reviewing U.S.-based opportunities through this platform.

Preference is generally given to requests that:

Serve communities where Koch companies have a significant presence
Align with the investment guidelines of the relevant Koch company
Demonstrate clear community benefit
Are submitted through the appropriate channel

Important note for Georgia-Pacific communities: Organizations located near a Georgia-Pacific facility should review the local guidance carefully. Organizations with operations outside Metro Atlanta should contact the local Georgia-Pacific facility in their community for support consideration rather than submitting through the Koch online portal.

Georgia-Pacific has facilities or operations listed in the following states:

Alabama
Arizona
Arkansas
California
Florida
Georgia
Indiana
Iowa
Kansas
Kentucky
Louisiana
Massachusetts
Michigan
Mississippi
Missouri
Nevada
New Hampshire
New Jersey
New Mexico
New York
North Carolina
Ohio
Oklahoma
Oregon
Pennsylvania
South Carolina
Tennessee
Texas
Virginia
Washington
Wisconsin
Wyoming

Ineligible Requests

Koch does not publish a full list of ineligible requests on the portal page. However, the platform currently does not review non-U.S.-based opportunities.

Applicants that do not align with the investment guidelines of a relevant Koch company may not be a fit.

Funding Amounts

Koch does not publish standard charitable contribution amounts. Support likely varies based on the request, alignment with company guidelines, geographic fit, and available funding.

Timeline & Review

📅 Application Timeline: Rolling / ongoing
📅 Recommended Deadline: Submit by October 31 to be considered for support in the current calendar year
📅 Review Period: Not specified

Application / Request Process

New applicants should first review the relevant investment guidelines and eligibility criteria to determine alignment. Applicants who appear eligible may take the Eligibility Quiz through the Koch Funding Portal.

If the organization passes the Eligibility Quiz, the next step is to introduce the organization and complete the registration process. Applicants should ensure all information is accurate before submitting the registration form, including email address, because profiles may not be editable after submission.

After registration, applicants should receive an email notification with login information for the Applicant Portal and application forms. Koch notes that applicants should allow up to two business days for this email to arrive.

Operate in the United States
Serve communities where Koch companies have operations and employees
Have a clear charitable or community benefit
Can align their request with the investment guidelines of a specific Koch company
Are prepared to complete an online eligibility and registration process

Koch’s charitable contribution process is best suited for U.S.-based organizations with a strong geographic and mission fit with one or more Koch companies.
