About the Program
As part of its five-year, $100 million commitment to strengthening communities, Lowe’s is inviting consumers and nonprofits to submit project ideas through its Community Bucket List campaign.
Each year from 2022 through 2026, Lowe’s selects up to 100 community spaces to receive renovation support. Selected projects are completed by the nonprofit or municipality receiving the grant, in partnership with Lowe’s associates and community volunteers.
In addition, Lowe’s supports more than 2,000 community improvement projects annually through product donations and volunteerism.
What Types of Projects Are Eligible?
Projects must involve the physical improvement or renovation of a community space.
Examples include:
- Community centers (youth, senior, veterans centers)
- Food pantries
- Parks and community gardens
- First responder facilities (fire and police stations)
- Safe and affordable housing facilities
- Skilled trades education initiatives
- Community revitalization projects (downtown plazas, historic theaters, shared spaces)
All grants must be awarded to a local nonprofit, school, or municipality willing and able to complete the project.
Selection Criteria
Projects are evaluated based on:
Community Impact
Addresses a clear local need and benefits the broader community.
Places That Matter
Focuses on shared spaces that serve as hubs of community life.
Feasibility
Realistic in scope with a clear path to completion within four months.
Lasting Benefit
Creates long-term value and inspires continued community engagement.

Projects must:
- Be led by a nonprofit organization, school, or city/municipality
- Involve physical renovation or improvement
- Be feasible within the program timeline
- Demonstrate measurable and lasting community impact
