About the Funder

Lubrizol Corporation established The Lubrizol Foundation to foster positive community relationships and enhance overall well-being. As part of its centennial goal, Lubrizol aims to improve at least 2,028,000 lives by 2028 and donate a minimum of $20,280,000 to qualified nonprofit organizations aligned with its corporate community investment priorities.

The Foundation’s work supports meaningful, measurable impact in the communities where Lubrizol employees live and work.


Funding Priorities

Grant applications are evaluated based on alignment with Lubrizol’s Corporate Community Investment Pillars, which align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs).

Quality Education (UN SDG 4)

Programs that expand access to learning opportunities and educational success.

Zero Hunger & Good Health and Well-Being (UN SDGs 2 & 3)

Initiatives that address food insecurity and promote physical and mental health.

Environmental Protection & Sustainability (UN SDGs 11, 13, 14, 15)

Programs that protect natural resources, support climate resilience, and promote sustainable communities.


Funding Amounts

  • Typical awards range from $5,000 to $40,000
  • Applicants should request amounts aligned with project scope
  • Grant recipients must wait three years before reapplying

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be a currently qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
  • Be located in and primarily serve a community where a Lubrizol facility is located (U.S. only)
  • Be willing and able to fulfill reporting requirements
  • Maintain current compliance in NPOConnect

Ineligible Requests

The Foundation does not support:

  • Individuals
  • Political organizations
  • Religious organizations
  • Fundraising dinners, galas, or sports-related events
  • Youth athletic, music, or arts leagues
  • Athletic-type events (walks, runs, golf outings)
  • Endowment building or debt reduction
  • Organizations or programs that discriminate

Timeline & Review Cycles

Grant applications are reviewed in three annual cycles.


📅 July 1 – October 15, 2026 → Reviewed in early November

Applications submitted after October 15 will be considered in the first cycle of the following year.


Application Process

Applications must be submitted online through the YourCause GrantsConnect Applicant Portal.

First-time applicants must create or log in with a Blackbaud ID and are strongly encouraged to update or create their NPOConnect account prior to applying.


Reporting Requirements

All grantees must submit a Post Grant Impact Report, including:

  • Impact measures and outcomes
  • Executive Director statement on project results
  • Comparison of actual expenses vs. original budget

Failure to submit required reporting within one year of the project end date may impact future funding eligibility.
