About the Funder

The Cleveland Browns are a professional NFL team based in Berea, Ohio. Through their community relations work, the Browns support nonprofit organizations and community programs that strengthen Northeast Ohio. Their giving priorities emphasize education, youth football, social justice, and volunteerism.

What This Program Supports

The Cleveland Browns consider donation and support requests from eligible organizations through two primary pathways: in-kind donation requests and sponsorship, financial, or grant requests.

In-Kind Donation Requests

The Browns provide donation items that may be used to support nonprofit events, fundraisers, raffles, auctions, or other charitable activities. Donation items are intended to be an added element to an event rather than the central focus of the event.

In-kind donations are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Priority is placed on nonprofit organizations located in Northeast Ohio that align with the Browns’ community pillars.

Sponsorship, Financial, or Grant Requests

Organizations may also submit sponsorship, financial, or grant requests in writing by mail. These requests must be submitted at least eight weeks before the event and must include detailed information about the organization, event, contact person, and requested support.

Eligible Support Types

In-kind donation items
Sponsorship requests
Financial requests
Grant requests
Charitable contribution requests
Support for nonprofit events and programs

The organization must have 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status.
The organization must provide a valid Tax-Exempt ID number through the online form.
Requests must be submitted at least four weeks before the item is needed.

Donation items are determined on a case-by-case basis.
Priority is placed on nonprofit organizations located in Northeast Ohio.
Priority is also placed on organizations aligned with the Browns’ pillars of education, youth football, social justice, and volunteerism.

For sponsorship, financial, or grant requests, organizations must submit written requests on official letterhead at least eight weeks in advance of the event.

Ineligible Requests

The Cleveland Browns do not accept personal items to be signed by players or coaches.

Requests may not be considered if:

The organization does not have 501(c)(3) status
The request is submitted less than four weeks before the item is needed
The organization has already received an item during the current calendar year
The organization does not provide a valid Tax-Exempt ID number
The request is not submitted through the required online form for in-kind donations
The request centers the event around the expectation of receiving a Browns donation item

Why This Opportunity Is a Good Fit

This opportunity is a strong fit for Northeast Ohio nonprofits seeking in-kind donation items, sponsorships, financial support, or grant consideration from a major professional sports organization. It may be especially relevant for organizations working in education, youth football, social justice, volunteerism, and broader community benefit.

Because in-kind donations are limited to one item per organization per calendar year and require at least four weeks of lead time, nonprofits should plan ahead and treat Browns donation items as supplemental support for an event rather than the primary fundraising draw.
