About the Funder

Each year, the PNM | TNMP Foundation awards more than $1 million in grants to support nonprofit organizations serving communities across New Mexico and Texas. In 2026, eligible New Mexico nonprofits are invited to apply for the PNM Power Grant, the Foundation’s primary community grant opportunity in the state.

The Power Grant reflects a trust-based approach to philanthropy, recognizing that nonprofits are closest to their communities and best positioned to identify local needs.

What This Program Supports

The 2026 PNM Power Grant provides flexible funding to organizations whose work strengthens communities and advances one or more of the Foundation’s three core pillars:

Education

Programs that improve educational access, quality, and outcomes for New Mexicans.

Economic Vitality

Initiatives that strengthen local economies, workforce development, and long-term community prosperity.

Environment

Efforts that promote environmental stewardship, sustainability, and responsible resource management.

Funding may support:

  • Programs and direct services
  • General operating expenses
  • Capacity-building initiatives
  • Community-identified priorities

As long as the work clearly benefits communities served by PNM, organizations have flexibility in how funds are used.
