Eligibility & Preferences
Eligible applicants are generally:

Nonprofit agencies with tax-exempt status under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code
Appropriate government agencies in good standing with the IRS
Organizations serving communities where significant numbers of Reynolds American employees live and/or work
Organizations primarily serving Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina, and surrounding areas

Applicants must be operated and organized so they do not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, national origin, sexual orientation, age, or disability in hiring practices, service provision, or board-member selection.

Ineligible Requests
The Reynolds American Foundation generally does not consider funding requests for:

Endowments
Support for individuals
General operating expenses
Requests from churches
Programs that promote religious doctrine
Political candidates or organizations
Travel expenses for individuals or organizations
Sponsorship of most special events
Programs that have already received support from the Reynolds American Foundation or Reynolds American for three consecutive years

Funding Amounts
The Reynolds American Foundation does not publish standard award amounts. Grant size may vary based on the request, program alignment, community impact, and available funding.

Additional quarterly deadlines include:
