About the Funder
Shaw Industries is committed to creating a better future through civic involvement, philanthropy, volunteerism, and workforce development. Through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) office, Shaw provides charitable financial and in-kind grants to organizations that align with its corporate values and CSR priorities. Shaw’s giving is strictly charitable in nature—no business or commercial benefit is received in return.
In addition to community grants, Shaw supports long-term strategic partnerships and administers an Associate Dependent Scholarship Program for qualifying high school seniors.

Community Grants Program
Through the Community Grants Program, Shaw provides financial support and flooring product donations to organizations working to create stronger communities and future-ready workforces.
Priority considerations include:
- STEM education and workforce development impact
- United Way affiliation
- Geographic proximity to Shaw facilities and associates
- Engagement opportunities for Shaw associates
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include:
- 501(c)(3) or 501(c)(19) nonprofit organizations operating in the U.S.
- Government entities, including state, county, or city agencies (e.g., fire or law enforcement)
- Educational institutions, including:
- K–12 public or private schools
- Charter schools
- Community/junior colleges
- State or private colleges and universities
Shaw reserves the right to determine organizational eligibility.
Application Process
- Applications must be submitted online by the applicant or a Shaw associate.
- 2026 rolling deadlines:
- February 1, 2026
- April 1, 2026
- June 15, 2026
- August 15, 2026
- November 1, 2026
- An internal grant committee reviews applications after each deadline.
Important Guidelines
- One request per organization per calendar year
- Grants are typically one-time only (not multi-year)
- General operating support is discouraged
- Full applications are required; submission does not guarantee funding
Grant Review Criteria
Applications are scored based on:
- Alignment with Shaw’s CSR priorities (STEM, workforce development, United Way)
- Active involvement of Shaw associates (board or volunteer roles)
- Proximity to Shaw operations and associate communities
- Engagement and public relations value
Reporting
Post-grant reporting is recommended (not required) for grants over $5,000 and may be submitted up to one year after receipt. Reports may include:
- Executive Director commentary
- Outcomes vs. original goals
- Spending overview
- Qualitative and quantitative impact data
Restricted Giving
Shaw does not support:
- Outside scholarship programs
- Political organizations
- Religious facilities or funding (faith-based programs may be eligible if aligned with CSR priorities)
- Organizations or programs that discriminate on any basis
