Applicants should clearly demonstrate how their proposal supports the Foundation’s focus on building a skilled workforce and entrepreneurial community within its service area.


Eligibility Requirements

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (proof of status required)
  • Operate within communities served by Skowhegan Savings Bank
  • Submit only one application per calendar year

Ineligible Requests

As a general rule, the Foundation does not fund:

  • Individuals or programs benefiting specific individuals (except approved scholarships)
  • Religious organizations
  • Labor organizations
  • Political candidates or campaigns
  • Endowment funds
  • For-profit businesses or organizations

Application Timeline

The Workforce Development Fund has quarterly deadlines:

📅 February 28
📅 May 30
📅 August 30
📅 November 30

Applications for the May 30 deadline must be submitted by that date.


Application Process

To apply:

  1. Complete the Workforce Development Fund Request Form in its entirety.
  2. Include all required supporting documentation, including proof of 501(c)(3) status.
  3. Submit materials via email to: ssbdonations@skowhegansavings.com

Applicants should clearly articulate how their proposal advances workforce development and economic growth in the Foundation’s service communities.
