Each year, Stantec dedicates up to one percent of its annual pretax profits to support community organizations through donations, sponsorships, in-kind services, and employee volunteer engagement.

Eligibility & Preferences

Stantec normally considers one request per year, per charity.

Organizations applying for a second consecutive year of funding should be prepared to show:

How previous funding was used
New components that will enhance or expand the program

Strong-fit requests are likely to:

Align with Stantec’s mission of building stronger, healthier, and more sustainable communities
Demonstrate clear community impact
Serve communities where Stantec has a presence
Offer a thoughtful, well-defined request
Provide opportunities for meaningful partnership or engagement, when appropriate

Ineligible Requests

Stantec does not provide funding to:

Animal activist organizations
Human rights activism
Beauty or talent contests
Individual sponsorships, including athletes and artists
All levels of competitive or professional sports
Labor groups
Loans for small businesses
Profit-making enterprises
Religious organizations, faith-based groups, or institutions
Ethnic organizations primarily focused on promoting a specific ethnic identity
Requests from third-party fundraisers
Film production or publishing activities
Conferences, seminars, or workshops
Travel, accommodation, meal expenses, field trips, or tours
Organizations that discriminate on the basis of characteristics such as race, sex, gender, color, creed, religious beliefs, citizenship status, nation of origin, age, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, or disability

Funding Amounts

Stantec does not publish standard award amounts. The company states that it dedicates up to one percent of annual pretax profits to support organizations through donations, sponsorships, in-kind services, and volunteer opportunities.
