T-Mobile – Hometown Grants (Spring 2026)
Up to $50,000 for Shovel-Ready Community Projects in Small Towns
The T-Mobile Hometown Grants Program is a nationwide initiative designed to help small towns, villages, and territories bring community spaces back to life. Through a commitment of up to $25 million through 2026, T-Mobile is funding shovel-ready projects that strengthen local connections and improve shared public spaces.
Grants of up to $50,000 per town are awarded on a quarterly basis, supporting physical improvements that can be completed within 12 months of receiving funding.

What This Program Supports
Hometown Grants fund shovel-ready, physical projects that build, rebuild, or refresh community spaces. Projects must be able to launch quickly and be completed within 12 months of award.
Eligible project examples include:
- Adaptive reuse of historic or underutilized buildings into community gathering spaces
- Improvements to outdoor parks, plazas, or trails
- Public library technology upgrades or digital access projects
- Other physical improvements that foster local connection and civic life
Funds may NOT be used for:
- Engineering or architectural plans or fees
- Salaries or ongoing operating expenses
- Reimbursement for projects already completed
Who Can Apply
Applications may be submitted by:
- Elected officials
- Town managers or municipal employees
- Tribal leaders
- Nonprofit organizations
Projects must be located in towns with fewer than 50,000 residents and provide a clear community benefit where funding may otherwise be difficult to secure.
Funding Amount
- Up to $50,000 per town
- Matching funds are not required
- If total projectz project costs exceed $50,000, applicants must describe other funding sources
Application Requirements
Applicants must submit a 3–5 page proposal that includes:
- Scope of work and shovel-ready plans (site maps, drawings, photos optional)
- Description of community need and who will benefit
- Explanation of how impact will be measured
- Project budget and clear description of how T-Mobile funds will be used
- Timeline demonstrating completion within 12 months
- Permit status, if applicable, and list of partners or contractors
- Up to five letters of support from local government or community organizations

📅 Spring 2026 Deadline: March 31, 2026
📅 Application Cycles: Quarterly (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter)
📅 Notification: 30–60 days after the end of the quarter
📅 Project Completion: Within 12 months of award
Selected communities will provide project updates at 6 and 12 months after receiving funding.
