Eligibility & Preferences
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Be a U.S.-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in good standing with the IRS
- Have a direct focus on one of the priority areas
- Be located in the greater Seattle or greater Kansas City area
- Serve at least one eligible county in the greater Seattle or greater Kansas City region
Eligible counties include:
Greater Seattle
- King County
- Snohomish County
- Pierce County
Greater Kansas City
- Jackson County
- Platte County
- Cass County
- Clay County
- Johnson County
- Wyandotte County
Additional guidelines include:
- One funding request per category per funding cycle
- Applicants currently receiving multi-year funding in the same category are not eligible for additional priority focus category funding during that term
- Ratings on platforms such as Charity Navigator and Candid are considered
Ineligible Requests
T-Mobile states that funds are not available for:
- Endowments
- Private foundations
- Lobbying, political causes, campaigns, or candidates
- Faith-based organizations for religious purposes
- Organizations that discriminate on the basis of protected characteristics
In addition, event sponsorship requests will not be considered.
