Eligibility & Preferences

Applicants must:

  • Be a nonprofit organization
  • Demonstrate measurable impact and clear program outcomes
  • Align closely with one or more of the foundation’s priority areas

Additional requirements:

  • Organizations that have not received funding in the past three years must contact the foundation for permission to apply
  • Strong preference for collaborative efforts addressing significant community needs

Ineligible Requests

The Hanover Foundation generally does not support:

  • National fundraising drives
  • Individuals or single-family benefit programs
  • Private schools
  • Sports teams or athletic groups
  • Religious, political, or fraternal organizations
  • Organizations that do not meet non-discrimination and employment policy standards

Funding Amounts

The Hanover Foundation does not publish standard grant amounts. Funding varies based on program scope and alignment.
