Eligibility and Preferences

Applicants must be nonprofit organizations.

TrueNorth prioritizes requests that align closely with:

  • Communities near its regional locations
  • Organizations serving TrueNorth clients and colleagues
  • Programs connected to one or more core giving pillars
  • Projects that demonstrate a clear and meaningful community benefit

Applicants should disclose any existing relationship their organization has with a TrueNorth employee, colleague, or client.

A connection to a TrueNorth colleague or client is not listed as a formal eligibility requirement, but organizations with an existing relationship are encouraged to describe it in the application.

Ineligible Requests

TrueNorth does not support:

  • Organizations whose core purpose is religious
  • Expenses that have already occurred
  • Requests to regrant funds to other nonprofit organizations
  • School-based sponsorships
  • Youth club sponsorships
  • Sports teams
  • Post-prom events
  • Political organizations, activities, or requests
  • Other politically related funding

Organizations should submit requests before incurring the expenses for which funding is being requested.

Funding Amounts

Community Impact Fund contributions typically range from:

$500–$5,000

Applicants should request an amount appropriate for the scale of the proposed program, event, sponsorship, or community activity.

The published range suggests that this opportunity is best suited for organizations seeking modest project support or sponsorship funding rather than major multiyear grants.
