About the Funder

Tuttle Orchards is a family-owned farm and orchard located in Greenfield, Indiana. The company emphasizes giving back to the central Indiana community that supports its business.

Rather than operating a traditional cash grant program, Tuttle Orchards focuses its charitable giving on products and experiences connected to the farm, with different forms of support available depending on the organization and purpose.

What This Program Supports

Tuttle Orchards currently offers three primary forms of nonprofit and community support.

Silent Auction Donations

Central Indiana nonprofit organizations may request Family Fall Fun Passes for use in silent auctions.

This is the most structured portion of Tuttle Orchards’ donation program and has specific eligibility and timing requirements.

Organizations should note that:

  • Requests must be submitted at least two months before the event
  • Tuttle Orchards only fulfills requests for events in Hancock County or surrounding counties
  • Requests must be submitted through the online donation form
  • Requests submitted by phone, email, or mail will not be fulfilled
  • Silent auction donations consist exclusively of Fall Fun Passes
  • Tuttle Orchards does not provide cash or produce for silent auctions

The application asks organizations to provide a nonprofit 501(c)(3) number or nonprofit identification number.

Food Pantry & Soup Kitchen Donations

Tuttle Orchards also provides produce donations to food pantries and soup kitchens on an ongoing basis.

These donations are concentrated on organizations in the orchard’s immediate geographic area so that available produce can directly benefit nearby communities.

Food access organizations in and around Hancock County may therefore be particularly strong candidates for this form of support.

Discounted Produce for Nonprofits

During September and October, Tuttle Orchards offers discounted apples and pumpkins to nonprofit organizations, including churches and schools, for fall festivals and special events.

Because of the volume of requests it receives, Tuttle Orchards does not donate apples, pumpkins, or similar produce to general nonprofit events.

Instead, eligible organizations can purchase select items at discounted nonprofit pricing.

Online ordering is required for discounted nonprofit produce to help the orchard manage inventory and fulfill orders.

Eligible Organizations

The silent auction donation program is intended for nonprofit organizations in central Indiana.

Applicants should be prepared to provide:

  • Organization name
  • 501(c)(3) number or nonprofit identification number
  • Organization contact information
  • Mailing address
  • Description of the event
  • Event date

Organizations requesting support should have a clear local connection to Hancock County or nearby communities.

Geographic Focus

Tuttle Orchards focuses its charitable giving on Central Indiana, with particularly strong emphasis on its immediate community.

For silent auction requests, Tuttle Orchards specifically states that it will only fulfill requests for events located in:

  • Hancock County, Indiana
  • Surrounding counties

Food pantry and soup kitchen donations are even more locally focused, with priority placed on organizations in the orchard’s immediate area.

Donation Amounts

Tuttle Orchards does not provide traditional cash grants through this program.

Available support includes:

Silent Auctions: Family Fall Fun Passes

Food Pantries & Soup Kitchens: Produce donations, based on availability and local need

Nonprofit Fall Events: Discounted pricing on select apples, pumpkins, and other eligible products during September and October

Cash donations are not available through the silent auction donation program.

Important Restrictions

Organizations considering a silent auction request should be aware that:

  • Requests submitted less than two months before an event will not be considered
  • Requests are limited to Hancock County and surrounding counties
  • Requests must be submitted using the online form
  • Phone, email, and mailed requests are not accepted
  • Silent auction donations are limited to Fall Fun Passes
  • Cash donations are not provided through the silent auction program
  • Produce is not donated for nonprofit festivals, fundraisers, or similar events

Organizations seeking apples or pumpkins for fall events should instead explore Tuttle Orchards’ nonprofit discounted pricing.

Timeline & Review

📅 Application Timeline: Ongoing
📅 Silent Auction Lead Time: At least 2 months before the event — no exceptions
📅 Discounted Produce Availability: September and October
📅 Food Pantry Donations: Ongoing, based on availability

Because Tuttle Orchards receives hundreds of requests each year, organizations should submit silent auction requests as early as possible.

Application / Request Process

Silent auction requests must be submitted through the online form on Tuttle Orchards’ Donation Requests page.

The form requests:

  • Organization name
  • Nonprofit identification
  • Contact name
  • Email and phone number
  • Mailing address
  • Description of the event
  • Event date

Organizations seeking food pantry support should review the Food Pantries section of the donation page for current request information.

Organizations interested in discounted nonprofit produce during September and October must place their orders online.

Why This Opportunity Is a Good Fit

This opportunity is a strong fit for organizations that:

  • Serve Hancock County or surrounding Central Indiana communities
  • Are planning a nonprofit silent auction
  • Can apply at least two months before their event
  • Can use an experience-based donation rather than cash funding
  • Operate a local food pantry or soup kitchen
  • Are a school, church, or nonprofit seeking discounted produce for a fall event

Organizations should make sure they request the type of support Tuttle Orchards actually provides. For most nonprofit fundraising events, the primary donation opportunity is a Family Fall Fun Pass for a silent auction, rather than cash, apples, pumpkins, or other farm products.
