Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation – Community Grants (June 2026 Cycle)

1 Min Read

Grants Supporting Education, Housing, and Human Services in the Hudson Valley

The Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation provides funding to nonprofit organizations delivering programs that strengthen communities in New York’s Hudson Valley. Established in 2001 to commemorate the bank’s 150th anniversary, the foundation supports initiatives that improve quality of life through education, housing, and health and human services.

Eligible nonprofits serving Ulster, Dutchess, and Orange Counties may apply for grants during several annual application cycles. The next deadline is June 3, 2026.

Organization: Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation
Support Type: Corporate foundation grants
Geographic Focus: Ulster, Dutchess, and Orange Counties, New York

About the Funder

Ulster Savings Bank created the Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation to ensure sustainable charitable giving to the communities it serves. Although funded by the bank, the foundation operates independently and focuses on supporting nonprofit programs that enhance the well-being of local residents.

The foundation continues to invest in community organizations throughout the region. In 2024 alone, it distributed over $341,987 in grants to nonprofits across Ulster, Dutchess, and Orange Counties.

What This Program Supports

The Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation funds nonprofit programs aligned with three core priority areas:

Health & Human Services

Programs that strengthen community well-being and provide essential services, including:

  • Social services and family support programs
  • Food security and community assistance initiatives
  • Programs addressing community health and well-being

Funded programs must directly benefit residents in the foundation’s service area.

Funding Amounts

Grant amounts vary depending on project scope, community need, and available funding.

Recent funding activity includes more than $341,987 awarded in 2024 to nonprofits serving the region.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Be tax-exempt nonprofit organizations
  • Be located in Ulster, Dutchess, or Orange County, New York
  • Provide programs or services that benefit residents within those counties

Programs must align with the foundation’s funding priorities in education, housing, or health and human services.

Application Timeline

The foundation accepts grant applications multiple times per year.

📅 Application Deadline: June 3, 2026
Additional 2026 deadlines include:

  • March 4, 2026
  • September 2, 2026
  • December 2, 2026

Applications must be postmarked by the deadline to be considered for that cycle. Applications received after the deadline will be reviewed in the following cycle.

Application Process

Eligible organizations must submit a grant request through the Ulster Savings Charitable Foundation grant process.

Apply / Learn More:

Applicants should prepare information about their organization, the program being funded, and the community impact of their proposed project.

Why This Opportunity Is a Good Fit

This grant opportunity is well suited for nonprofits that:

  • Serve Hudson Valley communities in Ulster, Dutchess, or Orange Counties
  • Provide programs in education, housing, or social services
  • Deliver direct community support to local residents

Because the foundation prioritizes local impact, smaller community-based nonprofits with strong regional ties are often competitive applicants.
