Virbac – Every Pet Project Donation Program

4 Min Read

$2,500 Monthly Donations for U.S. Animal Shelters, Rescues, and Animal Welfare Nonprofits

Virbac’s Every Pet Project provides ongoing corporate support to nonprofit organizations helping pets in need. Each month, Virbac selects two eligible animal charities to receive a $2,500 donation each.

Unlike a traditional grant application, this is a public nomination program. Pet owners, veterinary professionals, supporters, staff members, and other advocates can nominate an eligible organization—and nominations can be submitted once per person, per day. Non-winning nominations carry forward into future monthly drawings.

Organization: Virbac Corporation
Support Type: Corporate charitable donation / nomination program
Funding Amount: $2,500 per selected organization
Geographic Focus: United States
Application Timeline: Ongoing monthly drawings through December 31, 2026

About the Funder

Virbac is an international animal health company that develops products and services supporting the health and wellbeing of companion animals and other species.

Through the Every Pet Project, Virbac works to support organizations providing care and protection to animals in need. The initiative began as the Every Dog Project and later expanded to include pets more broadly.

The program has now provided more than $500,000 in donations to approximately 200 animal charities across 45 states, demonstrating a significant ongoing commitment to animal welfare organizations.

What This Program Supports

The Every Pet Project is designed for organizations whose work directly benefits pets in need.

Eligible organizations may include:

  • Animal shelters
  • Animal rescue organizations
  • Pet welfare nonprofits
  • Organizations providing veterinary or medical care to animals in need
  • Organizations supporting homeless, abandoned, abused, or vulnerable companion animals

The program does not require applicants to propose a specific project or submit a traditional grant budget. Instead, qualifying organizations are nominated for an unrestricted $2,500 charitable donation.

Eligibility & Requirements

To be considered, an organization must:

  • Be based in the United States
  • Be a registered 501(c)(3) organization
  • Have operated as a registered 501(c)(3) for at least one year prior to the applicable drawing
  • Include helping pets in need as part of its mission
  • If operating as an animal shelter, be a no-kill shelter
  • Agree that Virbac may identify the organization publicly as a donation recipient, which may include use of photographs or videos

This is therefore best suited for established nonprofit animal welfare organizations rather than newly formed rescues that have not yet reached the one-year operating requirement.

Funding Amount

Virbac awards:

$2,500 per selected organization

Two organizations are selected during each monthly drawing.

Virbac reports that the Every Pet Project has provided more than half a million dollars in cumulative support to animal charities across the country.

How Organizations Are Selected

This opportunity is different from a competitive grant application.

Eligible charities are entered into a monthly random drawing based on nominations received.

On or around the first business day of each month, Virbac randomly selects two charities from eligible nominations, subject to verification that the organization meets program requirements.

Importantly, organizations that are not selected do not necessarily start over. Non-winning nominations carry forward to subsequent monthly drawings.

Nomination Strategy

One of the strongest features of this program is that supporters can nominate an organization repeatedly.

Each individual may submit:

One nomination per person per day.

The same person may return on subsequent days and nominate the same charity again.

That means eligible nonprofits should consider actively encouraging:

  • Board members
  • Volunteers
  • Donors
  • Adopters
  • Foster families
  • Employees
  • Veterinary partners
  • Social media followers
  • Community supporters

to nominate the organization regularly.

A short email and social media campaign could significantly expand the organization’s pool of nominations over time.

Automated, scripted, or fraudulent nominations are prohibited, so organizations should encourage genuine individual participation rather than automated voting.

Who Can Submit a Nomination?

The nomination process is open to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia who are age 13 or older.

The person submitting the nomination does not need to work for the nonprofit.

This means supporters, volunteers, donors, veterinary professionals, pet owners, and members of the general public can nominate an eligible organization.

Timeline & Review

📅 2026 Program Period: January 2 – December 31, 2026

📅 Selection Schedule: Monthly

📅 Number Selected: Two charities per monthly drawing

📅 Donation Amount: $2,500 each

📅 Payment Timing: Donations are generally made within six to eight weeks after the monthly drawing.

Organizations that are not selected remain eligible through carried-forward nominations during the program period.

Nomination Process

Nominating an organization is intentionally simple.

Participants provide their contact information and identify the charity they would like Virbac to consider, including the organization’s name, city, and state.

Supporters may return on subsequent days and submit another nomination.

Virbac also provides tools that animal charities and veterinary clinics can use to help promote the Every Pet Project and encourage community participation.

Why This Opportunity Is a Good Fit

This is a particularly good opportunity for:

  • Animal shelters
  • Dog and cat rescue organizations
  • Breed-specific rescues
  • Companion animal welfare nonprofits
  • Organizations providing veterinary care for animals in need
  • Foster-based animal rescue organizations
  • Nonprofits with engaged volunteers, donors, adopters, and social media communities

The biggest advantage is the extremely low barrier to entry. There is no lengthy narrative application, formal project proposal, or detailed grant budget.

For eligible animal nonprofits, the best approach is not simply to submit one nomination and forget about it. Because supporters may nominate an organization once each day—and unsuccessful nominations carry forward—this is an opportunity where consistent community engagement can keep an organization in the running month after month.
