Eligible Support Types
- Programmatic grants aligned with one or more priority areas
- Community-based initiatives serving residents within Washington Gas’s service territory
- Time-sensitive or emergency support (upon direct outreach to community.investment@washgas.com)
Eligibility Requirements
Eligible Applicants:
- 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in good standing
- Organizations serving communities within Washington Gas’s service territory
Ineligible Applicants/Requests:
- Individuals
- Private non-operating foundations
- Organizations without 501(c)(3) public charity status
- Programs primarily promoting religious doctrine
- Elementary or secondary schools (except for special initiatives not covered by regular school budgets)
- Political action groups
- Organizations that discriminate in violation of Washington Gas’s anti-discrimination policy
Funding Amounts
Washington Gas does not publish a standard grant range. Award sizes vary based on alignment with funding priorities, geographic focus, and available funding within each cycle.
