The Westbury Bank Charitable Foundation was established in 2013 with a $1 million founding contribution to support the long-term health and vitality of local communities. Each year, the Foundation contributes approximately 5% of its assets to nonprofit organizations serving the areas where Westbury Bank employees and customers live and work. Grantmaking Criteria
All grants are approved by a majority vote of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Applications are evaluated based on whether they:
- Align with the Foundation’s five focus areas
- Leverage additional community or regional resources
- Produce measurable, cost-effective outcomes
- Encourage collaboration between public and private sectors
Eligible Organizations
Applicants must:
- Hold 501(c)(3) or other qualifying nonprofit status
- Operate within Westbury Bank’s market areas
- Demonstrate a need for private financial support
- Show direct relevance to at least one Foundation focus area
Priority is given to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.
Ineligible Requests
The Foundation does not fund:
- Political organizations or candidates
- Activities for sectarian or religious purposes
- Individual endeavors
- Officers, directors, or employees of Westbury Bank or its affiliates
