Funding Priorities

Whole Foods Market provides financial support to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations focused on:

  • Food access
  • Environmental stewardship
  • Other closely related, mission-aligned community needs

Funding must benefit communities located near Whole Foods Market stores.

Eligibility & Funding Guidelines

Eligible Applicants

  • U.S. 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
  • Registered Canadian charitable organizations
  • UK charitable incorporated organizations
  • Applicants must demonstrate verified nonprofit status

Ineligible Requests

Whole Foods Market does not fund:

  • Individuals
  • Political candidates or political organizations
  • For-profit businesses
  • Organizations that discriminate against any racial, ethnic, or cultural group

Important Use & Publicity Restrictions

Organizations receiving Store Giving support must comply with strict brand and publicity guidelines, including:

  • No public announcements, press releases, or communications about the donation without prior written approval
  • No use of the Whole Foods Market name, logo, or trademarks without written consent
  • Any approved use is subject to Whole Foods Market’s trademark and communications guidelines

Additional Considerations

  • Priority is given to organizations that have not received another Whole Foods Market donation or sponsorship in the same calendar year
  • Funding from the Whole Foods Market Foundation (including Whole Cities, Whole Kids, or Whole Planet) does not disqualify applicants
  • Only one request per organization may be submitted per funding cycle
  • Past funding does not guarantee future support
  • Due to high volume, not all requests can be funded

Applicants can check their application status at any time through their online profile in the Community Engagement Portal.
