Yoga Alliance Community Impact Grants provide flexible funding to nonprofit organizations working to make yoga more accessible to communities experiencing marginalization. The Community-Based Grants are specifically designed for grassroots organizations already expanding access, representation, and wellness through yoga within a single community or geographic area.
Organizations may apply for $5,000 to $25,000 in general operating support, with applications due January 31, 2027 at 5:00 p.m. ET.

Yoga Alliance works to expand access to yoga and support yoga professionals and organizations around the world. Through its Community Impact Grants, Yoga Alliance invests in organizations reducing barriers that prevent people from teaching, training, and practicing yoga.

Eligible Support Types
These grants provide general operating support, allowing recipients to direct funds toward their organization’s greatest needs.
Funding may also support capacity-building activities that strengthen long-term sustainability, including:
- Fundraising strategy
- Revenue diversification
- Consultant support
- Development staff training
- Courses and certifications that build organizational capacity
Eligibility & Preferences
Eligible applicants include:
- 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
- Fiscally sponsored organizations
- International nonprofit organizations, except organizations based in Cuba, Iran, and North Korea
Organizations must also demonstrate:
- At least two years of experience supporting community-level yoga teaching or training
- Alignment with the Community Impact Grant program goals
- Demonstrated community impact
Yoga Alliance membership is not required.
For the Community-Based Grant specifically, applicants must have a minimum annual operating budget of $15,000.
An organization’s funding request may not exceed one-third of its annual operating budget.
Ineligible Requests
Funding will not support:
- Individuals
- Organizations whose primary purpose is lobbying or political activity
- Multi-year requests
- Loans or other financial investments
- Past operating deficits
- Prohibited lobbying or election-related activities
Funding Amounts
Community-Based Grants range from:
$5,000–$25,000
Organizations must have an annual operating budget of at least $15,000, and the amount requested cannot exceed one-third of the organization’s annual operating budget.

Step 2: Community Impact Grant Application
Eligible organizations then submit the complete grant application by January 31, 2027 at 5:00 p.m. ET.
Applicants should be prepared to demonstrate their experience providing community-level yoga programming, community impact, and alignment with Yoga Alliance’s goals.
