Eligibility & Key Requirements

  • 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
  • One proposal per organization may be reviewed within a 12-month period
  • Only complete proposals receive full consideration

Ineligible Requests

The Amboy Foundation does not fund:

  • Individuals
  • Political causes, candidates, or organizations primarily focused on influencing legislation
  • Religious organizations (unless the project meets Foundation guidelines)
  • Private clubs or fraternal organizations
  • Labor groups
  • Intermediary organizations that regrant funds to others

Application Timeline & Review

  • Submission: Rolling (accepted at any time)
  • Board Review: Quarterly
  • Deadlines (by the 1st business day of):
    • March
    • June
    • September
    • December

Application / Request Process

Applicants must submit a cover letter (no more than two pages) that includes:

  • Project objectives and background
  • Budget and funding sources
  • Demonstration of need
  • Specific plans and timelines
  • Current and long-term funding plans
  • Organizational and staff qualifications

Additional required materials:

  • Current operating budget
  • Board of Directors and key management list
  • Total compensation for the top two paid personnel
  • IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter
  • Most recent independent audit
  • Most recent IRS Form 990
  • Primary contact information
  • Description of Amboy’s relationship with your organization (including past contributions or employee volunteer involvement)
