Eligible Organizations

Amicus Therapeutics will review charitable requests from nonprofit organizations described in Sections 501(c)(3) and 509(a)(1), 509(a)(2), or 509(a)(3) of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code, as well as similarly designated nonprofit organizations based outside the United States.

Eligible organization types may include:

Patient advocacy organizations
Healthcare-related humanitarian organizations
Healthcare industry associations
Academic centers engaged in disease and patient education
Patient, professional, medical, and scientific associations
Community service organizations

Eligible Support Types

Charitable contributions
Support for patient education programs
Support for advocacy initiatives
Support for disease awareness efforts
Support for access-related initiatives
Support for programs intended to improve patient disease outcomes

Eligibility & Preferences

Requests should be submitted by eligible nonprofit healthcare-related organizations and should support charitable activities that benefit rare disease communities.

Applicants should be able to demonstrate:

Clear nonprofit or charitable status
A healthcare, patient, professional, scientific, academic, advocacy, or community-service purpose
Alignment with Amicus’ rare disease focus and charitable giving priorities
A clear description of the proposed program, event, or activity
A defined budget and requested funding amount
How the activity will benefit patients, families, caregivers, professionals, or rare disease communities

Amicus does not receive significant value in goods or services in return for its charitable support.

Required Documents

Applications will only be considered for review once all required documentation has been submitted.

Required materials include:

Letter of Request on the nonprofit organization’s letterhead, submitted as a PDF
Program or project title
Program, event, or activity date(s)
Location(s)
Description of the proposed activity
Estimated budget
Amount of funding requested from Amicus
Statement indicating whether co-funding is being sought from other companies or entities
Agenda, if the request is for an event or program
Copy of tax-exempt charitable status documentation, such as a current 990 form dated within the last two years, 501(c)(3) letter, excerpt from register, or equivalent documentation
Current IRS W-9 form for U.S. nonprofits, signed and dated within the last 12 months
Equivalent foreign documentation for non-U.S. organizations

Ineligible Requests

Amicus does not publish a detailed list of ineligible charitable contribution requests on the program page. However, requests must comply with applicable federal, state, local, country, industry, and academic rules and guidelines governing charitable contribution activities.

Requests that are incomplete, submitted without required documentation, or not aligned with Amicus’ charitable contribution guidelines may not be considered.

Funding Amounts

Amicus Therapeutics does not publish standard charitable contribution amounts. Applicants must include an estimated budget and the amount requested from Amicus as part of the Letter of Request.

Applicants should submit charitable contribution requests through the Amicus online system.

First-time applicants must first confirm eligibility, register, and submit a request through the online portal. Returning applicants may log in with their existing email address and password.
