About Avion Takes Action

Avion Takes Action is an employee-led charitable giving fund supporting nonprofit organizations in the local communities of Avion employee-owners.

By harnessing the power of collective giving, Avion Takes Action has contributed more than $250,000 over the past three years to strengthen communities where employees live and work.

Grants are awarded twice per year through a competitive application process.


Quality-of-Life Funding Priorities

Eligible projects must align with one or more of the following focus areas:

🏠 Basic Needs

Food, shelter, jobs, and family support services.

🎓 Education

Early childhood development, special education programs, mentoring for at-risk youth, and college/career readiness initiatives.

Programs aimed at improving quality of life for veterans of the U.S. Armed Forces.


Eligibility Requirements

Organizations must:

  • Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (tax-deductible under IRS Section 170).
  • Operate in a community where Avion Solutions employees reside.
  • Use 100% of grant funds in areas where Avion employees live.
  • Align their mission with one or more Quality-of-Life priorities.
  • Provide services accessible to all community members, regardless of race, religion, political affiliation, ability to pay, or background.

Nonprofits may receive funding once every 12 months.


Ineligible Organizations

Avion Takes Action does not fund:

  • Athletic teams or booster clubs
  • Individuals or fraternal organizations
  • Political organizations or campaigns
  • Private foundations
  • Professional associations
  • Religious organizations without secular community designation
  • Scouting associations
  • Social organizations (including fraternities, sororities, alumni groups)
  • Tax-supported institutions

Application Timeline

Grants are awarded on a semi-annual basis:

📅 Spring Grant Cycle Deadline: February 28
📅 Fall Grant Cycle Deadline: August 31

The upcoming deadline is August 31 for the Fall Grant Cycle.


Application Process

Eligible nonprofits must complete and submit the Avion Takes Action grant application during the open cycle.

Applications should clearly demonstrate:

  • Alignment with one or more Quality-of-Life priorities
  • Local community impact
  • Use of funds within Avion employee communities
