About the Funder

Bank of New Hampshire is committed to strengthening the communities where its employees live and work through its Banking on Kindness initiative. The bank combines financial contributions with employee volunteerism to support organizations making a meaningful difference across the state.

In the past year alone, the initiative has supported hundreds of organizations through both funding and hands-on engagement—reflecting a strong commitment to community well-being.


What This Program Supports

The Banking on Kindness Initiative provides two primary forms of support:

Charitable Contributions (Donations)
Funding for nonprofit programs and projects that improve quality of life across New Hampshire communities.

Sponsorships
Support for events and initiatives that align with community priorities and offer visibility and engagement opportunities.

2026 Priority Focus: Affordable Housing
For 2026, priority will be given to organizations and programs that address affordable housing needs. This includes efforts that expand access to safe, stable housing or support individuals and families facing housing insecurity.


Eligible Support Types

  • Program and project funding
  • General charitable donations
  • Event sponsorships
  • Community-based initiatives aligned with funding priorities

Eligibility & Preferences

  • Nonprofit organizations serving communities in New Hampshire
  • Organizations aligned with community improvement and housing priorities
  • Preference may be given to:
    • Organizations with an existing banking relationship
    • Organizations with employee volunteer or board connections

Important:

  • Organizations may submit one donation application and one sponsorship application per calendar year
  • Both applications must be submitted within the same quarter

Funding Amounts

Bank of New Hampshire does not publish standard grant amounts. Funding varies based on project scope, alignment with priorities, and available resources.


Timeline & Review

📅 Application Deadline: September 30, 2026
📅 Notification Date: November 1, 2026

Additional quarterly cycles:

  • December 31 → February 1 notification

📅 Review Process: Applications are reviewed quarterly by the Contributions Committee


Application / Request Process

Applicants must submit requests through the Bank of New Hampshire’s online application portal.

For sponsorships, note:

  • Event date must be at least 30 days after notification

Applicants should ensure:

  • Clear alignment with funding priorities (especially affordable housing for 2026)
  • Defined community impact
  • Complete and accurate submission
