Programs that build on individual strengths and improve long-term well-being through:

• Education
• Mentorship
• Workforce readiness
• Youth development
• Other personal and economic development initiatives

Priority Populations

Broadview gives special consideration to programs serving:

• Adults age 65 and older
• Individuals with disabilities
• Individuals experiencing marginalization
• Military members and veterans
• Youth

Applicants whose programs serve one or more of these populations should clearly explain that connection in their application.

Eligible Organizations

Broadview directs charitable giving primarily to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations whose missions and programs align with its community priorities.

Applicants should serve communities within Broadview Federal Credit Union’s New York footprint.

Broadview currently operates more than 60 branches, with a presence that includes the Capital Region, Binghamton, Syracuse, Buffalo, and surrounding communities.

Funding Amounts

Broadview does not publish a standard minimum or maximum programmatic grant amount.

Organizations considering a significant funding request exceeding $50,000 should contact Broadview Community Support at least six months before the funding is needed.

This advance notice allows the credit union additional time to evaluate and potentially budget for larger requests.

Ineligible Requests

Broadview does not fund:

• Individuals
• Political organizations or political causes
• Individual school programs
• Athletic teams or school clubs
• Independent youth sports teams
• Membership organizations
• Arts organizations
• Organizations focused on animals or animal rights
• Churches or religious organizations, unless the funded services directly benefit the general public regardless of religious affiliation or practice

Application Timeline

📅 Decision Notification: Third week of March

Broadview conducts four regular programmatic grant cycles:

• Cycle 1: January 1 – February 19
• Cycle 2: February 20 – April 29
• Cycle 3: April 30 – July 15
• Cycle 4: July 16 – September 30

Broadview notes that its grant application remains available throughout the year, although applications are reviewed according to these cycle dates.

Additional specialized grant opportunities may also be offered during the year.

Other Support Available

In addition to programmatic grants, Broadview offers:

Event Sponsorships

Organizations may request sponsorship support for events and outings. Preference is given to organizations whose missions align with Broadview’s priority funding areas and serve at least one priority population.

In-Kind Giving

Broadview also provides essential items and supplies to nonprofit organizations.

Examples may include:

• Homeless shelter supplies
• Winter clothing
• Hygiene kits
• Cleaning supplies
• Other basic-needs items

These requests are separate from the programmatic grant application.
