Books-A-Million supports communities across the United States by donating books and merchandise to nonprofits, schools, libraries, and community organizations. Through in-kind contributions, BAM! helps reduce program costs and increase access to reading materials for children and families.


What This Program Funds

Books-A-Million provides in-kind product donations, typically including:

  • Books for children, teens, and adults

  • Merchandise for auctions or fundraising raffles

  • Items supporting school or library events

Typical supported activities:

Eligibility

Eligible organizations must:

  • Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, school, library, or community organization

  • Demonstrate a charitable purpose

  • Submit an official donation request online

  • Apply at least 4 weeks before the event or needed date

Books-A-Million generally does not support:

  • Individual or personal fundraising efforts

  • Religious or political organizations lacking broad community benefit

  • For-profit events

  • Requests outside the U.S.

Earlier applications increase approval odds.

Application Process

To request a donation:

  1. Visit the Books-A-Million donation request page

  2. Select the Donation Request Form

  3. Submit information including:

    • Organization name & nonprofit status

    • Event or program description

    • Community impact

    • Type of items requested

    • Event date or deadline

  4. Requests are reviewed by the BAM! Customer Service team

  5. Approved applicants coordinate fulfillment with the assigned store or BAM! representative
