Sparklight is committed to giving back in the places where its employees and customers live and work. Through its Charitable Giving Fund, Sparklight partners with local organizations to support essential needs, expand opportunity, and strengthen community well-being.
Priority Focus Areas
Sparklight prioritizes requests aligned with three core areas:
- Education & Digital Literacy
Programs that help learners of all ages gain the skills needed to succeed in a digital world. - Food Insecurity
Initiatives that help families access nutritious food and reduce hunger. - Community Development
Projects that strengthen neighborhoods and support economic growth.
Types of Support
Funding is generally provided for specific projects, including:
- Special projects that expand programs or build organizational capacity
- Capital campaigns that improve facilities or upgrade infrastructure
Note: Requests for general operating support or recurring annual programs are typically not funded.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants include:
- 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations in good standing
- 170(c)(1) governmental units requesting funds exclusively for public purposes
Additional requirements:
- Organizations must be U.S.-based
- Services must be delivered in areas where Sparklight or Cable One operates
Ineligible Requests
Sparklight does not fund:
- Scholarships for individuals or nonprofit scholarship funds
- Seed money or sole-source funding
- Endowments
- Conferences, seminars, or fundraising events
- Political campaigns, causes, or lobbying efforts
- Religious organizations for general operations or mission-based programs
- (Project-based requests serving the broader community may be considered)
- Organizations or programs that discriminate against protected classes
Timeline & Review
📅 Application Deadline: April 30 (by midnight ET)
📅 Award Notifications: End of May
Organizations generally receive one award per 12-month period.
Application Process
All requests must be submitted through Sparklight’s online application portal. Selected applicants may be contacted for additional information, interviews, or site visits.
