Charitable Contributions, Sponsorships, and Volunteer Support for Local Nonprofits
The Canandaigua National Bank (CNB) Community Support Program provides charitable contributions, sponsorships, in-kind support, and employee volunteer engagement to nonprofit organizations working to strengthen communities across CNB’s service areas. The program focuses on initiatives that elevate quality of life, promote financial well-being, and ensure long-term community vitality.
Support is available to eligible nonprofits serving CNB communities in Monroe, Ontario, and Onondaga counties in New York, as well as Sarasota, Florida.

About the Funder
Canandaigua National Bank’s mission—to fortify healthy financial lives—is reflected in its community engagement and philanthropic investments. Through financial support and hands-on employee involvement, CNB partners with nonprofit organizations that contribute to strong, connected, and resilient communities.
Employees play an active role in giving through the Community Connections Committee, which annually selects nonprofit partners to receive both financial contributions and volunteer support. To date, CNB employees have directed more than $500,000 in charitable giving across CNB communities.

Levels of Support
CNB may provide support in several forms, including:
- Auction gifts or merchandise: $100–$150 value
- Monetary contributions: Up to $5,000
- Employee volunteer support: Hands-on engagement by CNB associates
Eligibility & Preferences
Eligible applicants must:
- Be a qualified 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization listed in the IRS database at the time of application
- Serve communities where CNB maintains a physical presence
- Align closely with CNB’s Priority Impact Areas
Priority is given to organizations that:
- Serve a majority low-to-moderate income (LMI) population
- Offer meaningful volunteer opportunities for CNB employees
Generally, organizations may submit one request per calendar year. Exceptions may be made when an organization serves as a fiscal sponsor for multiple programs.
Funding Limitations
CNB is less likely to support:
- The same organization for more than three consecutive years
- Requests exceeding 50% of a program or project budget
- Ongoing general operating expenses (salaries, overhead, administrative costs)
- Capital projects or building campaigns
- Multi-year commitments
- Endowments or re-granting programs
CNB will not fund:
- Political advocacy, campaigns, or lobbying
- Religious activities or programs requiring participation in religion
- Debt or deficit funding
Timeline & Review
📅 Sponsorship Requests:
- Submit at least 30 days prior to the expected commitment
- Requests requiring marketing or advertising materials require 45 days (6 weeks) notice

Due to high demand, requests may be deferred to a future review cycle.
