- Efforts to reduce homelessness and hunger
- Preventive and primary health care services
Arts & Culture
- Programs that promote or benefit Alaska’s arts and cultural heritage
- Priority for projects serving low-income or disadvantaged populations
Eligibility Requirements
Applicant organizations must:
- Be recognized as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit by the IRS
- Have been in existence for at least one year
- Address a clearly defined community need benefiting a broad audience
- Demonstrate how funds will be used and leveraged with other support, when possible
Ineligible Requests
CIRI does not fund:
- Individual or team sponsorships
- In-state or out-of-state travel for individuals or teams
- Religious organizations or church-sponsored activities
- Organizations that discriminate based on protected characteristics
- Pageants, talent contests, or debt-related requests
Review Process
CIRI accepts and reviews requests throughout the year, though giving is budgeted on a calendar-year basis. Proposals are evaluated based on:
- Available budget
- Alignment with CIRI’s current objectives
- Demonstrated community need

- Organization background and mission
- Target population served
- Funding amount requested

- Plans for securing additional or matching support
