Cracker Barrel Old Country Store supports nonprofit organizations nationwide through in-kind donations, sponsorship funding, and foundation grants that help provide comfort and care to communities in need. Guided by its long-standing mission of Pleasing People®, Cracker Barrel focuses its giving on efforts that use food as a tool to strengthen communities and support those facing the greatest need.

About the Funder

Since 1969, Cracker Barrel has been committed to caring for people in the neighborhoods where it does business. For more than 25 years, the Cracker Barrel Old Country Store Foundation has also supported select nonprofit partners through grant funding. Together, Cracker Barrel’s corporate giving and foundation efforts aim to create meaningful, lasting community impact.

Primary Focus Areas

Cracker Barrel directs most of its charitable giving through the Food for Families initiative, launched in 2021. This initiative focuses on using food to care for one another across three interconnected areas:

Programs that address hunger, improve food access, and support individuals and families facing food insecurity.
Community Support Through Food
Initiatives that meet community needs using food as a central resource.
Reducing Food Waste
Efforts that minimize food waste while increasing access to meals.

In addition, Cracker Barrel prioritizes:

Diversity & Inclusion
Support for organizations serving high-need, underserved minority communities, with a focus on equity and inclusion.

Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate how their work fights hunger in America and/or promotes diversity and inclusion.

Eligibility & Preferences

Requests should come from nonprofit organizations
Strong alignment with hunger relief and/or diversity & inclusion is essential
Preference for organizations serving underserved communities
Requests must be submitted through Cracker Barrel’s online system
Submission of a request does not guarantee approval

Exclusions

Cracker Barrel will not provide support to:

Organizations whose programs discriminate against protected classes
Feeding America member food banks (these organizations must apply through Feeding America’s grant process)

Cracker Barrel also notes that limited resources prevent funding every request, regardless of merit.

Application / Request Process

Organizations must create an account and submit a request through Cracker Barrel’s online Donation Request Site. Requests are reviewed based on alignment with focus areas, community impact, and available resources.
