Community Support with an Emphasis on Education and Employee Engagement

Through its community giving efforts, First Source supports nonprofit organizations that improve quality of life for employees, members, and the communities it serves. First Source prioritizes partnerships that go beyond financial support, often pairing donations with employee volunteering, fundraising, and awareness efforts—particularly for organizations with an educational component or impact.

About the Funder

First Source is a member-owned financial institution originally founded as Utica Teachers Federal Credit Union. As an educational financial institution at its core, First Source is deeply committed to supporting community organizations that advance learning, financial education, and overall community well-being.

First Source considers requests from community organizations that:

First Source does not support:

  • Organizations or causes with political affiliations
  • Organizations or causes with religious affiliations

Requests submitted outside the official online portal will not be considered.

Application & Review Process

All donation requests must be submitted through First Source’s online request portal. Applicants should note:

  • Requests are reviewed by the Community Donation Committee
  • Submission does not guarantee approval
  • Allow up to 30 days for review and up to 60 days for fulfillment if approved
  • Requests are accepted only through the online system (no email, phone, fax, or mail submissions)

Applicants must create an organization profile (login required), which allows organizations to:

  • Submit future requests
  • Track request status
  • Update organizational contact information

For system notifications, applicants should add mail@grantapplication.com to their safe sender list.
