About the Funder
Food Lion Feeds is Food Lion’s signature hunger-relief initiative, dedicated to eliminating food insecurity in the communities where Food Lion operates. Since 2014, Food Lion Feeds has helped provide more than 1.5 billion mealsthrough partnerships with nonprofits, food banks, and community groups working to nourish families in need.
Through this program, nonprofits can request gift cards or product donations to support hunger relief programs, community food distribution events, and related initiatives.
What This Program Funds
Food Lion Feeds provides in-kind donations, including:

Food Lion gift cards

Food products for hunger-relief programs or community distribution

Support for events and programs focused specifically on alleviating food insecurity
Donations may be used for:

Food pantries
-
Meal distribution programs
-
Hunger-relief events
-
Community food drives
-
Emergency food support initiatives
Note: This program does not provide monetary grants.
Cash grant requests must be submitted through the Food Lion Charitable Foundation.
Eligibility
Organizations must:

Be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit (proof required)
-
Have been established for at least one year
-
Operate within communities served by Food Lion
-
Submit requests through the online portal only
-
Request support no more than once every 6 months
Required documentation:

IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter
-
Completed W-9
Food Lion Feeds will not consider requests submitted by mail, fax, or email.
Funding Amounts
This program provides in-kind support only, including:

Food Lion gift cards (amount varies)

Food/product donations
Donation values are determined based on need, availability, and alignment with Food Lion Feeds’ mission.
Deadline
Requests must be submitted at least 4 weeks prior to the date the donation is needed.
Applications are accepted year-round until funding capacity is met.
Geographic Focus
Food Lion Feeds supports nonprofits located in:

Communities within Food Lion’s operating footprint (primarily the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic regions of the U.S.)
Organizations outside Food Lion’s service area are not eligible.

Proposals are reviewed by the Food Lion Feeds team, and all organizations will be notified through the portal.
