Granite State Credit Union’s Community Giving Program supports charitable, nonprofit, and educational organizations throughout New Hampshire. As a member-owned financial institution, GSCU prioritizes organizations and initiatives that strengthen the communities it serves, especially those near a GSCU location.

About the Funder

Granite State Credit Union is a member-owned financial institution committed to supporting strong community ties across New Hampshire. Through its charitable giving program, GSCU provides support to nonprofit, charitable, and educational organizations that benefit local communities and align with the credit union’s mission.

GSCU’s giving program is budgeted annually and is subject to the availability of funds.

Eligibility & Requirements

Proposals for support must meet the following criteria:

Organizations must be defined as nonprofit under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Service Code.
Organizations or events must have a primary focus within the New Hampshire communities GSCU serves.
Projects or programs should align with financial literacy, education, or community-based priorities.

Requests may be submitted by members, Credit Union management and staff, or the general public.

Ineligible Requests

GSCU will not provide funding for:

Religious organizations
Organizations or projects that discriminate based on race, religion, ethnicity, or sexual preference
Organizations or projects considered to be in direct competition with GSCU
Political organizations or candidates
Individuals

Evaluation Criteria

In addition to basic eligibility requirements, GSCU considers:

Degree of benefit to the communities GSCU serves
Level of communication of GSCU’s mission in the community
Humanitarian value and service to the community
Current funding availability

Funding Amounts

GSCU does not publish standard award amounts. Its giving program is budgeted annually and funding is subject to availability.

Timeline & Review

📅 Application Timeline: Rolling monthly review
📅 Submission Deadline: Applications must be submitted in writing by the last business day of the month
📅 Review Period: Applications are reviewed at the end of each month
📅 Notification: Successful applicants are notified by the 8th of the following month
📅 Frequency Limit: One Community Giving request per applicant or organization per calendar year

Organizations that receive a Community Giving donation must wait until the new year to submit a new request.

Application / Request Process

All applications must be submitted in writing by the last business day of the month. GSCU reviews applications at the end of each month based on current funding availability.

Applicants should ensure their request clearly explains the organization’s nonprofit status, service area, community benefit, and alignment with GSCU’s priorities.
