Harris Teeter supports nonprofit organizations in the communities where its stores are located through charitable contributions and in-kind donations. The company has established clear priorities to guide its giving while remaining open to requests from all registered 501(c)(3) organizations.

Donation requests are reviewed on a rolling basis by the Corporate Contributions Committee.

Through its corporate charitable contributions program, Harris Teeter invests in organizations that address hunger, support youth and education, respond to community emergencies, and strengthen local neighborhoods.

Funding Priorities

Harris Teeter primarily supports nonprofit organizations working in the following areas:

Local food banks
Youth sports organizations
Schools (grades K–12)
Disaster relief efforts
United Way–affiliated organizations

While these are priority areas, Harris Teeter will consider requests from all eligible 501(c)(3) organizations.

Ineligible Requests

Harris Teeter does not fund:

Individuals
Deficit reduction or operating reserves
Trips, tours, or student exchange programs
Fund drives conducted by religious or political organizations

Timeline & Review

Requests are reviewed in the order received
Review period may take up to six weeks
Not all requests can be approved

Application / Request Process

All donation requests must be submitted through Harris Teeter’s online donation request system. Applicants should clearly outline the organization’s mission, community impact, and how the contribution will be used.
