About the Funder

Hy-Vee is a community-centered grocery retailer committed to supporting local organizations and strengthening neighborhoods. Through both local store engagement and corporate charitable giving, Hy-Vee invests in programs that promote wellbeing, address hunger, and create educational and economic opportunities—particularly for children and vulnerable populations.

Pillars of Giving

All funding requests must align with one or more of Hy-Vee’s three pillars:

Health & Wellness
Initiatives that promote physical, mental, and overall wellbeing, with a focus on human health and children’s health.

Food Security
Programs that address hunger and food insecurity, including food banks and initiatives that ensure families and children have access to nutritious meals.

Education & Economic Empowerment
Efforts that invest in education and skill-building, particularly for children and vulnerable populations, with an emphasis on trades and career pathways important to Hy-Vee’s future workforce.
