The Polaris TRAILS GRANTS Program supports off-road and snow clubs, associations, grassroots groups, and nonprofit organizations working to keep people riding safely and responsibly. Through this program, Polaris provides funding or product support to organizations in the United States and Canada that promote safe riding, preserve and create trails, maintain land access, and protect the natural resources connected to off-road trail systems.

Polaris is a powersports company that manufactures off-road vehicles, snowmobiles, motorcycles, and related products. Through the TRAILS GRANTS Program, launched in January 2006, Polaris supports the riders, clubs, and grassroots organizations that maintain trail access, promote responsible recreation, and protect the outdoor spaces that make off-road and snow riding possible.

The Polaris TRAILS GRANTS Program supports organizations working to strengthen and protect off-road and snow trail systems. Funding may support:
Trail Preservation and Creation
Projects that preserve, improve, expand, or create off-road and snow trail systems.
Trail Development and Maintenance
Support for trail maintenance, trail development, signage, equipment, and other needs that help keep trail systems safe and accessible.
Safe and Responsible Riding
Programs that promote rider safety, responsible recreation, and education for off-road, ATV, ORV, and snowmobile users.
Land Access
Projects that help increase, protect, or maintain access to riding areas and trail systems.
Environmental Stewardship
Efforts that help protect the environment, natural resources, and outdoor landscapes connected to off-road trail systems.

Eligibility & Preferences
Eligible applicants include:
501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations
501(c)(7) organizations
Governmental organizations
Other nonprofit organizations
Off-road clubs
Snow clubs
Associations
Grassroots riding and trail groups
Applicants should be located in the United States or Canada and should have a clear connection to off-road or snow trail access, preservation, responsible riding, or trail-related environmental stewardship.
If approved, organizations may be required to provide trail system information in GPX, Shapefile, KML, or KMZ format.
Ineligible Requests
The TRAILS GRANTS Program is not intended for fire, rescue, or law enforcement organizations. Those organizations should review separate Polaris programs that may be more appropriate.
Organizations with incomplete prior Polaris grant reporting may not be considered for new funding until previous grant programs are completed and required reports are submitted.
Funding Amounts
Organizations may apply for monetary or product support of up to $10,000 annually.
Organizations may apply for up to two grants per year.
Timeline & Review
📅 Fall Deadline: September 1, 2026
📅 Spring Deadline: March 1 annually
📅 Review Period: Grant requests received by September 1 are reviewed by the end of September
📅 Notification: Applicants are notified no later than 30 days after the end of the review month
Application / Request Process
Applications are submitted through the Polaris TRAILS GRANTS Program application form. Applicants should be prepared to provide information about the organization, project, requested support, trail impact, and how the request will support safe and responsible riding, trail preservation, or land access.
Approved applicants may also need to submit trail system files in GPX, Shapefile, KML, or KMZ format when applicable.
