- Small business growth and entrepreneurship programs
Financial Literacy
Programs that promote effective financial management and access to financial tools, including:
- Budgeting, credit-building, and financial education
- Savings and investment readiness
- Financial empowerment for low- and moderate-income communities
Eligibility Requirements
To apply, organizations must:
- Be a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit
- Demonstrate significant local impact
- Align with one or more Foundation focus areas
- Primarily serve low- to moderate-income individuals and families within Salem Five’s community footprint
Additional guidelines:
- Organizations may receive funding once per calendar year
- Requests are not reviewed until all required documentation is submitted
- To receive funds by year-end, applications must be submitted by November 15
Ineligible Requests
The Foundation does not typically fund:
- Individuals or scholarships
- Animal-related causes
- Major capital or endowment campaigns
- Travel (conferences, seminars, tours, student trips)
- Political organizations or candidates
- Religious activities, discriminatory organizations, or individual endeavors

- 501(c)(3) documentation or W-9
- Event or program details related to the request
Paper submissions, letters of inquiry, and email requests are not accepted.
