What This Program Supports
Sioux Valley Energy considers donation requests from:
- Nonprofit organizations
- Schools
- Community organizations and local groups
Priority is given to organizations and projects that directly benefit Sioux Valley Energy communities and whose activities take place primarily within the Cooperative’s service territory.
For larger funding requests, Sioux Valley Energy encourages applicants to consider the Operation Round Up® Grant Program, which provides higher award amounts through member-supported contributions.
Eligibility & Geographic Requirements
To be considered for a charitable donation:
- Organizations must operate within the Sioux Valley Energy service territory
- The majority of organizational activities must take place within the service area
- Requests must be submitted using the Sioux Valley Energy Charitable Request Form or in writing
- Eligible entities include nonprofits, schools, and community organizations
Ineligible Requests
Sioux Valley Energy typically does not consider donations for:
- Projects outside the Cooperative’s service territory
- Fundraising for group or individual travel expenses (airfare, gas, lodging, food)
- Donations made directly to individuals
- Raffle prizes for benefits may be considered but are not guaranteed
- Donations to individual sports teams
- Requests from nonprofit sports or school organizations may be considered
- Donations advancing religious or political causes
- Ongoing operational expenses or staff salaries

Organizations seeking support should:
- Complete the Sioux Valley Energy Charitable Request Form or submit a written request
- Clearly describe the organization, request, and community benefit
- Confirm that activities primarily serve Sioux Valley Energy communities
