- Access to local meals and food supplies
- Nutrition education and awareness
- School and community gardening and agricultural programs
Health Equity
- Aging and senior services
- Home care, mental health, and transportation access
Homelessness
- Facility or equipment upgrades supporting education, employment assistance, and wellbeing programs
Types of Grants
Designated Grants
- Awarded at the discretion of the Foundation
- Organizations are selected directly and do not apply
Competitive Grants
- Open application process
- Must align with one or more Foundation focus areas
- Most awards range from $2,500 to $50,000
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
- Be located in or serve communities within the Foundation’s assessment area, including:
Avon, Barkhamsted, Bethlehem, Bridgewater, Bristol, Burlington, Canaan, Canton, Colebrook, Cornwall, East Granby, Farmington, Goshen, Granby, Hartland, Harwinton, Kent, Litchfield, Morris, New Hartford, New Milford, Norfolk, North Canaan, Plymouth, Roxbury, Salisbury, Sharon, Simsbury, Thomaston, Torrington, Warren, Washington, Watertown, Winchester, and Woodbury - Be a registered 501(c)(3) organization or have a qualified fiscal sponsor
- Have been active for at least one year
- Demonstrate measurable community impact
- Align with the Foundation’s mission and priorities
Application Guidelines
- Only one application per 12-month period
- Multi-year requests are not accepted
- Returning grantees must submit a progress and impact report for prior funding
- Applications must be submitted electronically
- Requests should reflect the true cost of the project and not exceed what is necessary
